Qiyu looked at the extra silver exploration chest and the prestige blind box in his inventory, and his motivation grew even stronger.
He didn’t rush to open them; after all, he had more important business to attend to.
The float moved forward slowly. He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but the crowd gathered below seemed a bit larger than before.
Qiyu thought for a moment, then tapped his staff lightly. A beam of pure white light once again descended from the float, once again enveloping everyone on both sides of the procession.
Basic Heal Spell.
It was a spell he’d learned back when he was still a Level 1 mage, but now that he was using it, its range was wider and its effect slightly stronger.
Elder Roland, sitting inside the float to keep things under control, listened to the ceaseless gasps from below and shook her head with a smile.
She could sense that throughout Gold Hole City, many pairs of eyes were fixed on this spot.
It wasn’t just the mages association; clearly, Qiyu’s talent had also attracted some ill-intentioned stares.
Elder Roland let out a cold chuckle inwardly, then expanded her mental energy. Words inaudible to ordinary people rang out in the minds of several people:
“I advise you all to first consider what kind of place the Star Forest is. And why our mages association dares to let him show his true abilities without holding back.”
No one answered her.
But a moment later, several gazes gradually disappeared.
Down below, the residents of Gold Hole City were calling friends and gathering their families.
Those with communication orbs immediately sent messages to family and friends who were still at home, saying, “A powerful and kind-hearted mage has arrived today—come quickly, come quickly!”
Those without communication orbs simply ran home themselves to drag people out and let them benefit from the Bless spell.
Word spread like wildfire.
His reputation points rose even faster.
【Congratulations to Server 01, Star Forest, for becoming the first region in the entire server to surpass 50,000 reputation points. All players in the server will receive 1 “prestige blind box.”】
【Congratulations to player “I Love Survival Game” for becoming the first player on the entire server to accumulate over 50,000 in personal reputation. The system awards 1 “gold exploration chest.”】
Two more announcements in a row—reputation has broken through 50,000!
Server 01 Channel:
【Cockroach Taste Is So Weird: Wow, the top players are still competing! Will we break 100,000 tonight?】
【Liver Emperor: I got two mystery boxes for free just by staying home and doing nothing—thanks to the top players.】
【Need A Little Money To Save Me: 100,000 probably won’t happen that fast? The parade ends at midnight, so it shouldn’t rise that quickly after that.】
Another server was just as excited as Server 01.
Dan Xingyu, just like Jin Qian, took a few photos and videos and posted them in the group chat.
His original intention was to show off.
But he quickly forgot about the server-wide chat and focused all his attention on a certain local little mage
Commonly known as: getting people all hyped up and then ignoring them.
【Life Without a Phone Is Tough: Where’s Er Shen? Where’s our Er Shen? I really want to know how this turns out.】
【Life Without a Phone Is Tough: Damn, isn’t this already the fourth server-wide announcement? Another day of envying Server 01.】
【Eternal Night: With the gaming god’s look and aura in that video, if he changed the background and played his cards right, he could easily start a cult and claim to be a reincarnated deity—it wouldn’t be a stretch at all. It’s no wonder he keeps racking up reputation nonstop.】
【Eternal Night: What surprises me is that our number one on the “teenage delusions” list has actually been patiently putting up with watching the gaming pro steal the spotlight all by himself.】
【With My Retreat: Eternal Night, what are you up to? Don’t even think about stirring up trouble! Everyone knows our “Er Shen” and “Game Dad” are so close they could share a pair of pants!】
【A Poisonous Scorpion: I’ve been wanting to say this for a while—if “Er Shen” let his dragon fly around for a bit, wouldn’t his reputation skyrocket?】
【A Poisonous Scorpion: Is he really just going to sit back and watch other servers steal all the limelight and live it up?】
【The Future Is Long: @APoisonousScorpion, I can tell for myself whether you’re looking out for Er Shen or just jealous of others’ rewards. Let’s be honest—how can prestige blind boxes possibly be as tempting as silver exploration chests and gold chests? Scorpion God, I support you using your Exploration Scroll right now to enter the Native Realm, make a splash, and amaze everyone!】
【Eternal Night: Sorry, that’s not what I meant. I know Game God and the #1 player are close. It’s just that, to me, their bond seems a bit deeper than I imagined.】
【Watermelon, I Declare You: Am I the only one who’s more impressed by Game God’s magic? Didn’t you guys see that spell of his? It could make ten million flowers bloom in an instant! Since these are plants, wouldn’t we have a bumper harvest in no time? My kid’s been craving fruit for over a month now.】
Dan Xingyu, of course, heard the endless notifications from his survival panel. It wasn’t just the zone chat—messages in his small group and private chats with friends hadn’t stopped either.
He didn’t have time to respond.
Leaning against the railing of the flower cart, his mind and eyes were filled with a single thought: Even if the God of Spring herself were to appear, it probably wouldn’t be any different than this, right?
That little mage is really amazing.
Qiyu didn’t know how much time had passed.
After casting the previous blessing spell, he finally found a moment to glance at the Survival Panel.
He glanced at the time—it was already nearly midnight.
The Survival Panel hadn’t updated since 50,000 reputation points, so he guessed that perhaps the next update would be at 100,000 reputation points?
He tapped on the reputation leaderboard.
Currently, his reputation in the Star Forest has reached 70,000.
Even at this late hour, the number of residents lining both sides of the float hadn’t decreased—if anything, there were even more than at the start.
Elder Roland’s voice came from behind him: “That’s about it. It’s time to get ready for bed.”
Qiyu heard many people calling his name.
He smiled and said, “Coming right up!”
A speck of red light surged from the Heart of the Great Tree Staff and shot into the void.
It exploded violently high in the sky.
Just like fireworks.
“Wow!” Everyone looked up as countless golden specks burst into bloom; yet as they fell, they did not fade away like fireworks, but transformed into countless tiny golden butterflies.
This was the Level 3 spell “Spirit of Fire,” which Qiyu had adapted himself after seeing fireworks.
Countless golden flame butterflies fell from the sky into the crowd.
Perhaps it was Qiyu’s blessing spells throughout the evening that had earned him everyone’s trust, or maybe the butterflies were simply too beautiful—no one moved out of the way.
Some people even reached out to catch these falling little butterflies.
However, since they were products of magic, when people touched them with their hands, they weren’t burned by the flames, but they couldn’t feel their physical form either.
The “Spirit of Fire” fluttered gracefully around the crowd like real little fairies, and only began to fade one by one when the clock struck twelve and the float parade came to an end.
Elder Roland stood beside Qiyu, gazing down at the crowd below, and sighed, “You’ve really gotten us into quite a bit of trouble.”
Qiyu was puzzled. “What trouble?”
Elder Roland looked at him affectionately. “You’ve made this year’s God of Spring Festival so unique.”
The mages who had presided over the float parade in the past were not necessarily as proficient in blessing magic as Qiyu.
And even if they possessed blessing magic as masterful as Qiyu’s, most mages wouldn’t go out of their way to come up with so many creative ideas just to make ordinary people happy.
This child from the Star Forest has a tender, childlike heart.
“Everyone’s expectations will rise, and by tomorrow night, we mages hosting the float parade will have our hands full.”
Now Qiyu understood—Elder Roland was complimenting him!
A smile flickered in his eyes: “The float parade is a lot of fun, but unfortunately, I’m heading home tomorrow.”
Otherwise, he’d have been more than happy to host it for a few more days and rack up plenty of reputation points.
Elder Roland’s aged hand gently patted his shoulder: “You’ve been busy all night—go home and get some rest early.”
Qiyu obediently said goodbye to Elder Roland, then, along with his three friends, slipped away quickly, dodging the enthusiastic stares of the people of Gold Hole City.
Jin Qian ran over to invite Qiyu: “Boss, boss! There’s still a bonfire dance and a fireworks show later tonight. I want to go have fun with Leslie—are you coming?”
A bonfire dance.
Just hearing that, you know there’ll be a huge crowd.
Qiyu shook his head: “No, thanks. I’m heading back.”
Jin Qian was understanding: “You had a rough first half of the night—you should really get some rest!”
“What about Er Shen? Are you coming with us?”
Dan Xingyu sighed regretfully: “I’m tired—I can’t go with you guys.”
Jin Qian wasn’t surprised. Although they’d only just met, after observing him for half a day and half a night, he’d noticed that this “Er Shen” from Server 88 seemed cheerful and enthusiastic on the surface, but in reality, he appeared to have absolutely no interest in anything other than the game and his boss.
“Well then, have a safe trip home and get some rest! See you tomorrow morning!”
After seeing the two off, Qiyu and Dan Xingyu returned to their residence. Qiyu said goodbye to Dan Xingyu once more and went back to his own room.
He changed out of his heavy clothes and took a hot shower.
He heard some faint sounds.
He quietly slipped out of his room, and the wind elemental deftly carried him up to the rooftop.
Not far to the south of the city, vast swaths of dazzling fireworks lit up the sky.
Judging by the distance—it wasn’t too far away—they must have been specially soundproofed; unless you listened closely, you couldn’t hear a thing.
It was truly beautiful.
He sat down on the rooftop, absorbed in the view.
Someone approached from his side and sat down next to him.
Qiyu was surprised: “Dan Xingyu, weren’t you tired?”
He’d thought Dan Xingyu would go to sleep.
“I’m not tired—I just lied to them.” Dan Xingyu looked at him, a smile in his eyes. “I just wanted an excuse to come back and watch the fireworks with you.”
“How did you know I’d come out to watch the fireworks?”
Dan Xingyu said seriously, “Of course, it’s because I have a special ability called mind reading.”
Qiyu:?
Before he could ask, Dan Xingyu couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“I was lying to you, too,” she said with a mischievous smile. “Because you, Your Majesty the mage, are just too easy to read.”
The look on your face when you saw the fireworks earlier was so cute, it made me want to give you a hug.
