Day 6 of the Ice and Snow Boss Event.

Probably because he’d gone to bed early yesterday, it was still dark when Qiyu woke up. He opened the Survival Panel and saw that it was 7:00 a.m.

It would be another hour before dawn.

He didn’t rush to get up; instead, he lay in bed, reflecting on the events of the previous day. So I’m not human after all?

Nor am I a survivor of the apocalypse.

Dan Xingyu was right—I’m a native of this survival game world. I’m an elf.

Teacher Aegnor is my family. I have many, many relatives who love me.

I grew from a tree—that tree I saw that day, which felt so incredibly familiar to me, was formed from a leaf of the Mother Tree. Teacher Aegnor said that as long as I ate well and grew properly, I would live for many, many years to come.

He learned a great deal about the elven race from the ancestral memories, but he didn’t know why he had wandered from this world into the Post-Apocalyptic World.

Teacher Aegnor said, “We’ll tell you about this once you’ve fully awakened.”

He reassured Qiyu, “Don’t worry—it’s no big deal. Everything’s already been taken care of.”

He added, “Don’t overthink things, kid. You just need to focus on your cultivation and grow up healthy and happy.”

Qiyu still wanted to ask about the Survival Game—why so many Earth people had been dragged into this world.

The elf teacher shook his head at him: “There are some things I still can’t tell you right now. You’re a participant now—just like before—so follow His rules and live your life to the fullest.”

Qiyu: Got it—there are restrictions.

Restrictions that even a powerful magic saint couldn’t easily reveal. It seemed the Survival Game was even more formidable than he’d imagined.

He asked, “Then can I tell my friends about what’s happened to me?”

“Of course you can. Not just your friends—even if you announced it to the whole world, it wouldn’t matter.” Being an elf isn’t something to be hidden from the light.

His elf teacher told him, “Don’t worry about getting into trouble. There aren’t many things in this world that can actually cause trouble for an elf.” Upon hearing this, Qiyu breathed a sigh of relief.

A long time ago, when he first heard rumors about the Elven race, he had even entertained some dark thoughts. How could the former rulers of the continent have suddenly vanished from human sight?

Such accounts always seemed to hint at some kind of ominous event.

Now, judging by what Aegnor says, it seems the Elves aren’t facing any major trouble after all.

That’s a relief.

Qiyu rolled over in bed, hugged his blanket, and snuggled happily for another ten minutes. Time to get up!

After washing up, he climbed down from the treehouse and surveyed his territory and refuge with fresh eyes.

It had always felt like a coincidence before, but now that he thought about it, Teacher Aegnor had probably spotted him right from the moment he entered the survival game.

The books he’d written himself, the Level 3 shelter shaped like an elven treehouse, the Guardian Mage Robe, the Bow of Idelan, and the Ancient War Tree… It turned out he really did have a special connection with the elves.

The plants hadn’t woken up yet.

Only the alchemy puppets, which didn’t need sleep, were diligently patrolling. Qiyu opened the survival panel and clicked on the Ice and Snow Boss event page. He began by saying earnestly to the survival panel, “Thank you.”

He used to think that the Survival Game had mistaken him for someone from Earth and accidentally dragged him into this world.

Now he knew that the Survival Game had deliberately pulled him back home from the post-apocalyptic world. He liked the Survival Game even more now.

After thanking the Survival Game, he got down to business—redeeming items from the Ice and Snow Boss event. He currently had a total of 833 frost gems left.

In the shop, he had already redeemed the magic sled and the limited-edition Ice Knight outfit set.

He first spent 500 frost gems to redeem the event’s most prestigious reward: the “Territory Skin.”

【Player has been detected as owning a brand-new territory skin. Do you wish to switch to it?】

Qiyu was curious—what exactly did “replace” mean?

He selected “Change.”

A wave of ice-blue energy radiated outward from him.

Fine snow began to fall from the sky, and the roads transformed into paths covered with a light dusting of snow.

Stepping on it felt incredibly real—he could hear the snow crunching beneath his feet—but it didn’t feel cold to the touch. On the grass, in the garden, on the small blue resource lakes, and in the woods… a thin, pristine layer of snow had settled on every plant.

The most dramatic change was his treehouse. No, it wasn’t a treehouse anymore. The big tree was gone, and so was the treehouse.

In its place stood a magnificent, glittering castle with an icy spire.

At the same time, his survival panel and territory module were now dotted with many small red dots.

Upon clicking on them, he discovered there were actually many customizable appearances for his subjects.

【Alchemy Puppet】, with a customizable territory skin called 【Ice and Snow Guardian】.

When he selected the option to change it, the alchemy puppet—which had originally been wearing steel armor—was now clad in ice crystal armor.

【Energy Tower】, with a customizable territory skin: 【Icy Energy Tower】.

After the change, the energy towers transformed into giant snowmen, each wearing a scarf of a different color around its neck depending on its attributes. His farmhouse also turned into a small, snow-covered wooden house with colorful windows, adorned with sparkling little snowflake lights—it looked absolutely beautiful.

These little snowflake lights are scattered throughout the territory, so the entire area—even at night—is never dark. It’s like a winter wonderland.

There’s even a “Temperature Selection” option on the survival panel.

You could change only the appearance without altering the territory’s constant-temperature ecosystem at all.

Alternatively, you could adjust the temperature within the territory to turn it into a complete “winter wonderland.”

Qiyu stepped into the brand-new “Icy Castle” version of the shelter and discovered that not only had the exterior changed, but all the decorations inside the castle had also been updated to match the new look.

Even the floor had turned a translucent icy blue; when he stepped on it, a special effect of falling snowflakes appeared beneath his feet.

He saw an icy throne, with the butler standing beside it. The butler had also changed his appearance—wearing a coat with a fur-trimmed collar, he looked even more burly, like a snow bear.

“This is truly a delightful change, My Lord,” the butler said. “It feels as though I’ve witnessed the birth of a wondrous world with my own eyes.”

Qiyu said happily, “It’s the new look for the domain. Do you like it?”

The butler replied, “You look very happy. As your butler, my preferences are your preferences, so I like it very much too.” Qiyu spun around gleefully, then glanced at the time—it was already past 7:30.

He took lots of photos and posted them all in the “01 Survival Squad” group.

【I Love Survival Game: The territory skin from the Ice and Snow Boss event—it looks great.】

【Tranquility Yields Transcendence: Did you get it? It really is beautiful—though it looks so cold.】

【I Love Survival Game: It’s just a cosmetic change—it won’t affect the temperature inside the territory.】

【Tranquility Yields Transcendence: Well, that’s not bad then.】

【Dare Not Open My Eyes: Wow, is this a castle? Has it changed that much? Darn it. I’m still working hard to save up gems.】 After showing it off, Qiyu moved on to other items.

Snow Launcher—an item tied to the territory’s appearance. It looked similar to an energy tower with a territory skin applied—a snowman over a meter tall. In front of it sat a machine that Qiyu didn’t quite understand.

【Snow launcher: A magical weapon that automatically loads ice and snow, converting them into snowballs.】

Qiyu had it demonstrate its function: Suddenly, the snowman seemed to “come to life,” bending down to scoop up a pile of snow from the ground and place it into the machine’s slot.

About two seconds later, a snowball roughly 20 centimeters in diameter was ejected from the machine and shot far beyond the territory’s borders. Its function seemed similar to that of the energy tower—it could be used as a weapon to defend the territory.

However, Qiyu did understand why this device was tied to the territory’s appearance—the snowman wouldn’t take more than a couple of steps; it could only remain stationary, bending over to scoop up snow and feed it into the machine.

Apart from the “snow that never runs out” provided by the territory’s appearance, no real snow could keep up with it like this. He first exchanged two of them, spending 100 frost gems.

Next, a Fine Equipment Exchange Voucher—100 frost gems.

After Qiyu completed the exchange, he discovered that he could actually choose equipment. The options included a full set of Fine-quality Ice Knight gear. There were a few more choices for weapons: Ice Knight Longsword, Ice Knight Lance, Ice Knight Longbow, and Ice Knight Dagger.

You can choose any one of them.

In addition, there were the Ice Knight Inner Armor, the Ice Knight Shield, the Ice Knight Ring, and the Ice Knight Boots. Clearly, this set could be paired with the event costume set.

It looked cool, and the stats weren’t half bad either. Unfortunately, he could only choose one item.

Qiyu didn’t hesitate for long: for weapons, he already had the Bow of Idelan and the Heart of the Great Tree Staff; for defense, he had the Guardian Mage Robe.

He couldn’t see his exact Agility stat at the moment, but it was certainly not low. Moreover, he already had the Emerald Boots, which suited him better. All things considered, the best choice was the Ice and Snow Knight’s emerald ring, which had no quantity limit.

Select “Exchange.”

【Ice Knight’s Ring: Fine-quality equipment. Grants +2 Strength and +2 Courage. When the wearer is in a snowy or icy environment, their base attributes are increased by 10%.】

Qiyu’s eyes lit up.

Clearly, this was a “divine artifact” with specific environmental requirements for use.

The fixed stats on this gear are average; among Fine-quality gear, it’s actually a bit lackluster.

But just like the magic sled, under specific conditions, it can deliver performance that far surpasses that of Fine-quality gear. A 10% base stat bonus.

Before Qiyu’s “Bloodline Awakening”—that is, before all his stats were replaced with “*” symbols—and after he became a four-star mage, his base attack stat had already reached 65, excluding equipment bonuses.

That 10% bonus amounts to 6.5. On its own, it might not seem like much, but the Ice Knight’s Ring boosts all attributes—defense, agility, health, and even Qiyu’s astonishingly high mental power.

After his Awakening, these stats will only increase further.

This ring is clearly something Qiyu will be able to use even in the very late stages of his journey. Even with environmental limitations, it’s still an absolutely top-notch item.

The Ice Knight’s Ring is silver, with a ring face shaped like a cross-shaped longsword.

With it on, Qiyu now has six rings on his hand.

Next up were the event-exclusive avatar and avatar accessory—both were inexpensive, costing a total of just 20 frost gems. Qiyu equipped them all.

Purchasing the two snow launchers had cost a total of 870 frost gems.

He had now redeemed everything in the store, leaving him with 113 frost gems. Frost gems cannot be gifted or traded.

Qiyu exchanged two more snow launchers, after which the Survival Panel displayed the exchange limit: a maximum of six.

This meant that once he had collected enough frost gems to exchange for two snow launchers, he would no longer be able to make any further exchanges. There were still two days left in the event.
