Qiyu didn’t know that, at the very moment he sent that message, someone was repeatedly looking back at the previous image he’d posted.

Dan Xingyu was grinning like an idiot at the line of text on the picture: “Family, friends, and lovers—go out and have fun together.”

It was obvious that this God of Spring Festival was a very lively, grand festival.

At a time like this, even someone older than him would think to invite him—does that mean he, after all, is a little bit special to him?

Immediately afterward, he saw the next message Qiyu had sent.

Dan Xingyu froze.

It took him quite a while before he cautiously asked:

【God Has No Form: Why would you ask that?】

After asking, Qiyu realized how strange his own question sounded.

【I Love Survival Game: I don’t know. Maybe because when I saw the Spring Festival, you were the first person who came to mind.】

Even though he hadn’t seen the fireworks yet, little fireworks were already going off in Dan Xingyu’s heart.

Dan Xingyu:!

【God Has No Form: Count me in!】

【God Has No Form: I definitely have to come.】

Even through the survival interface, Qiyu could almost feel his joy.

He couldn’t help but smile along with him.

He suddenly wanted to hear Dan Xingyu’s voice.

But before he could even take out his communication orb, the one he was carrying lit up.

“Hey, Dan Xingyu.”

Jin Qian, sitting next to him: ???

He widened his eyes, staring at the object in Qiyu’s hand.

A crisp voice came from inside: “It seems you really like this Gold Hole City. It’s a real shame I can’t come with you.”

Qiyu asked him, “Aren’t you afraid of wasting a party scroll?”

He was clearly still referring to the previous topic.

Dan Xingyu’s tone carried a hint of laughter: “Losing a party scroll is one thing, but this is your first time participating in a festival in a survival game!”

“Just think about it—during the fireworks and the parade, everyone else will have someone to be with, but you’ll be all alone over there. How lonely would that be?”

Jin Qian, standing nearby:?

“Hey? Am I not a person?”

At least he still remembered him while playing the game.

“I’m not alone. I’m teaming up with a friend from our area.”

Dan Xingyu:?

“Then I definitely have to come!”

Dan Xingyu ground his teeth lightly: “How could I possibly miss out on a party like this?”

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Whenever he thought back on this spring festival, how could the person by his side not be him?

He asked casually, as if by chance: “I wonder who this friend of yours from Server 01 is. Is he right beside you? Should I say hi?”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Jin Qian’s cheerful voice drifted over:

“Hello there, God Has No Form! My name is Jin Qian. I’ve heard so much about you—so much!”

“You’re quite the legend in our Server 01.”

“Last time you called out that ‘My Fate is Determined By Me, Not The Heavens’ guy, I immediately dove headfirst into the game and became your fan.”

God Has No Form: “Hello, hello. Just call me Er Shen.”

Dan Xingyu looked at the winding, dimly lit cave ahead of him. Rustling sounds came from the darkness, and he said, “I’ve got some things to take care of here, so I’ll have to end this call for now.”

“Well then,” he said softly, “My Lord, see you this afternoon.”

“See you this afternoon.”

The light from the communication orb dimmed, and Qiyu met Jin Qian’s piercing gaze.

He stared at the communication orb in Qiyu’s hand: “What is this cool gadget? A parallel-world version of our cell phone?”

Qiyu replied cautiously, “Yeah, it can be used for long-distance calls and chatting.”

“That’s awesome, that’s awesome!” Jin Qian looked as if he wanted to take a closer look but was too shy to reach out. “But the fact that this thing can actually let players in a survival game chat with each other even in the natives’ territory—that’s pretty damn impressive, right?”

“Doesn’t this communication orb need an internet connection? How does it work?”

Moreover, seeing how adept the big shot across from him was at using it, he asked, “Can you make calls across regions too?”

Qiyu nodded: “Yeah.”

He handed the communication orb to Jin Qian: “Just say the word if you want to take a look.”

However, there wasn’t much to look at with the communication sphere itself—aside from a small slot for an energy bead, it was essentially just a solid, non-disassemblable sphere.

Jin Qian held it in his hands, turning it over and over several times, but still couldn’t figure out what it was all about.

Qiyu told him, “This is also an alchemical product. I happened to come across it during my last trip to the resource zone.”

He remembered that Jin Qian’s profession was an alchemist: “Keep up the good work and level up quickly. Who knows—maybe someday you’ll be able to craft this kind of product yourself.”

Those words moved Jin Qian deeply: “Boss, you trust me more than I trust myself.”

He was still at the stage where things were going haywire every other day, yet Boss was already dreaming on his behalf.

“Still, this communication sphere seems really convenient. I’ll ask Leslie later if they sell them.”

Soon, Leslie arrived.

Hearing Jin Qian say this, he replied, “Communication orbs? They’re for sale—there are all kinds of models.”

He looked at Qiyu: “I wonder if I could take a look at your communication orb?”

He wanted to confirm exactly which type it was.

Qiyu handed him the communication orb.

Leslie recognized the logo on the communication orb at a glance: “It’s a product from the Dawson Merchants’ Guild.”

He examined it closely and chuckled, “It’s a classic, high-end alchemical product.”

Leslie explained to Jin Qian, “Lord Qiyu’s communication orb belongs to the Dawson Merchants’ Guild’s flagship series, known for its exceptional communication performance.”

“This communication orb is designed to channel mental energy, and its communication range can cover the entire continent.”

“It’s truly impressive, and it’s more expensive than the eye-type models on the market.”

“Most people don’t actually need such a wide coverage range, but those who can afford it won’t mind spending a few extra gold coins.”

Jin Qian asked curiously, “So, how much does this communication orb cost? ”

Leslie said, “Here in Gold Hole City, if you need them in a hurry, it’s 120 gold coins for a pair.”

Qiyu listened from the side; the Gareth siblings had mentioned they’d bought theirs for 100 gold coins. However, they lived in the main city of Ambner, while Gold Hole City was located in the relatively remote Black Rock Mountain Range, so a price premium on goods seemed reasonable.

Jin Qian asked curiously, “So, can this communication orb support group voice chat?”

Leslie looked puzzled: “What do you mean by ‘group voice chat’?”

“It’s like a virtual chat room—everyone can join the voice chat and talk within the same room.”

Leslie suddenly understood: “I think I get what you mean—it’s like the internal networks of the major guilds, right?”

Jin Qian asked curiously, “A guild’s internal network? What’s that?”

Leslie knew they were from the Star Forest, so it wasn’t surprising that they didn’t understand many things about the outside world.

He explained: “Many guilds have internal networks—platforms built by the guild’s leaders using mental energy. Guild members can register using their badge credentials, and then they can communicate within the guild’s internal platform.”

He thought for a moment: “Though, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a guild network that supports voice calls.”

Jin Qian tried to wrap his head around it—was it something like… a forum?

Leslie looked at Jin Qian’s expression, shook his head, and sighed: “When I mentioned 120 gold coins, you didn’t seem to think anything was off. You don’t think it’s expensive, do you?”

Jin Qian retorted with conviction, “Bro, you know I’m just a country bumpkin fresh out of the Star Forest. It’s not that I think it’s cheap—I just don’t have a clear sense of prices here yet.”

Besides, compared to the things he was selling, 120 gold coins really wasn’t much.

Leslie explained, “Communication orbs were actually invented mostly to serve ordinary people. Aside from ordinary folks, they’re mainly used by low- to mid-tier practitioners.”

“It’s one thing for practitioners, but for ordinary people, 120 gold coins is an absolute fortune.”

Qiyu was well aware of this: “Take him shopping this afternoon, and he’ll understand.”

Most everyday goods—food, clothing, housing, and transportation—that have nothing to do with professionals are really cheap.

Jin Qian hadn’t quite processed it yet: “Why are communication orbs only used by ordinary people and low-to-mid-tier professionals?”

Leslie gave him a puzzled look, seemingly unable to understand why he would ask such a question.

As soon as Jin Qian saw that expression, his heart skipped a beat—had he said something wrong?

It seemed Qiyu’s identity was firmly established,

Leslie didn’t think much of it, assuming Jin Qian had also grown up in a very isolated, traditional place; since he wasn’t very old, it seemed reasonable that he might lack some common knowledge.

He patiently explained, “Because no matter what profession it is, practitioners who’ve cultivated to a high level will have very high mental power attributes.”

“For those adults, their mental power alone is enough to cover multiple cities—or even greater distances. Moreover, high-level practitioners usually possess more powerful artifacts and treasures; ordinary communication orbs are practically useless to them.”

Jin Qian was still a novice alchemist; Qiyu was currently the fastest-progressing practitioner in the entire 01 District.

But Qiyu just happened to be the type who didn’t like to show off.

So, he only vaguely knew that “high-level experts are very powerful,” but he really didn’t have much of an understanding of exactly how powerful they were.

Hearing Leslie say this, he thought of the only—no, the group of “high-level practitioners” he’d ever seen.

He asked, “Does that old man—the head of the mages association—we met today count as a high-level professional?”

When Leslie heard that they’d actually met the head of the mages association, his regard for Qiyu’s status immediately rose.

He chuckled, “Of course. Grand Master Frederick is a Seven-Star Mage. ”

Among all practitioners, mages are the very cream of the crop.

“If he wanted to, not a single thing happening in Gold Hole City could be hidden from him.”

Jin Qian blinked and lowered his voice: “So, if I were to secretly say something bad about him right now—”

Leslie: “……”

He matched his tone, lowering his voice: “Frederick might not hold it against you, but my father would definitely break my legs if I did!”

The two of them, in perfect unison, burst into laughter.

Qiyu: “……”

Although it was a bit rude, these two really were quite a noisy pair together.

He hoped the afternoon would come a little sooner.

He found himself missing God Has No Form a little.
