After returning, Jian Xingyi went to find Cangshui.
“Island white sand, volcanic ash stone, rainforest black mud…”
Cangshui paused. “Is that so?”
Cangshui, of course, immediately understood where these materials came from and how to obtain them. He frowned and said, “None of that is easy…”
“Hm?”
Cangshui said, “First is White Sand. The material system’s compendium mentions it as the finest and highest-quality sand, sufficient for synthesis. But the problem is… It’s only in the system compendium. As far as I know, no island possessing White Sand actually exists, which means we have to obtain it within this specific timeline. However, this timeline is full of unknowns, and we have no idea if we’ll even be able to reach an island with White Sand.”
Jian Xingyi scratched his head. “That makes sense. We might have to take a chance and go on an adventure…”
“Next is volcanic ash stone—a hard rock found near magma that can even withstand its extreme heat. Then there’s black mud, which is the soil from rainforest swamps. We can probably find these, though the locations are somewhat dangerous and require high combat power to handle. But the problem is, how do we transport them once we find them? I’m not sure what method they used in the second run, but we can’t exactly stuff them into our backpacks and bring them back to the guild, can we?”
Jian Xingyi paused for a moment before saying, “That’s actually easy to solve! I have a dimensional container here.” Jian Xingyi explained the container’s purpose to Cangshui; he’d even used it before to transport magma to the guild’s trenches.
“It’s just… We’ll need three containers now, and I only have one. But it shouldn’t be a problem—I can scrape some together!” Fortunately, he still had Tiger Claws and Snake Scales in his backpack; he was only missing two Transdimensional Eyes and one animal part.
“That’s good.” Cangshui breathed a sigh of relief. “So that means we just need to head to the second instance to find the White Sand Island.”
Jian Xingyi nodded. “I’ll go gather the materials for the containers, too.”
Once the materials are gathered, Cangshui can use the Synthesizer’s free synthesis function to experiment with the ratios and create the bricks, after which they can begin construction. After all, the system’s construction function is still available; it’s just that there are no bricks. Moreover, the bricks provided by the system are far less durable than those in the Second Chapter, and they require so many dawn coins, wood, and kill counts to obtain.
Now that he has new bricks, Cangshui can also use his experience from the second run to figure out how to integrate traps and mechanisms. Cangshui and Wu Yun remained in the second run, while
Jian Xingyi and the others returned to “reality.”
Jian Xingyi set up the final trade post on Peaceful Mountain, and after completing the task, he went home to rest for a while. Phew…
Finally, all the trade posts were built. Now, complaints about the natural disasters were rarely heard on the public channel anymore; at the very least, it had become much easier for everyone to move around and seek shelter.
Jian Xingyi opened the backend to manage his system and was surprised to discover… Holy cow, his Savior System had a red dot!
Jian Xingyi clicked it open and discovered that 【Alliance】 was actually available for construction!
【Alliance Formation Requirements】
1. The Guild President’s reputation must reach 300
2. Guild President’s available assets must reach 5 billion
3. Guild level must reach 5
His reputation had long since met the threshold for establishing an alliance, but reaching 5 billion and Level 5 was no easy feat. Jian Xingyi opened his guild interface and finally understood.
If rice is the foundation that keeps the guild running—encouraging players to invest their assets and register to join—then medicine is the fuel that ignites it, and an unstoppable forest fire at that.
Medicines that heal wounds and delay the onset of infections were already incredibly powerful, but to actually cure infections… what would set Jian Xingyi apart from a god?
With these items, players would no longer hesitate to invest all their assets in exchange for medicine. In other words, if they could obtain medicine and rice—one saving lives, the other preserving them—it wouldn’t matter if all their assets were swallowed up by Jian Xingyi.
Moreover, the medicines themselves are extremely expensive, so the guild’s value has now skyrocketed to 5 billion and Level 5, a significant portion of which comes from Jian Xingyi’s personal income earned after listing food items.
Jian Xingyi sighed in amazement—he was truly a billionaire now. And with the ability to build an alliance, it meant…
…they had finally entered the next phase!
Moments later, a new announcement appeared on the public channel.
【To all players: I am Xinghe. Together with the ten players with maximum combat power across the server and the Guild Presidents of the top ten guilds, I will reveal the truth about this world to you all. This will be a lengthy explanation, but it concerns how you can “leave” this game—or rather, how you can survive. I ask for your patience.】
【I imagine many of you have heard of the Human Liberation Plan at Grapevine Peak; I am one of its members.】
The following section omits our identities and explains the concept of the fusion between reality and the game by presenting “unearthed documents.”
【So, what we can confirm now is that the final zombie tide will arrive in fifteen days. To prepare for this disaster, we ask all players across the server to use the trade port to relocate to Peace Mountain and merge with us.】
【That’s right. Now that the Alliance has been established, we can merge without restrictions and relocate our entire guild base to a safe location. We will expand outward from Grapevine Peak and Long Live for A Hundred Years, building a base for everyone on Peace Mountain and surrounding it with thick walls.】
【In this battle for the survival of us all, everyone will unite to jointly withstand the zombie tide!】
With the backing of both the Merchants’ Guild and the Alliance, Jian Xingyi’s messages would now be delivered smoothly to all eight regions without being filtered out. He also helped Cangshui upload documents detailing the wall construction plans for the merged alliance.
After the merger, the Guild Presidents of all 54 guilds across the server will join a group with Jian Xingyi, Cangshui, and Wu Yun. The Guild Presidents will need to collect materials and construct the walls according to the tasks issued by the three of them.
This will be the longest city wall in the history of the game!
Jian Xingyi also shared a task list with everyone in the leadership group.
1. White Sand from the Islands: Cangshui and Wu Yun know this sand’s properties best; outsiders might not even recognize it, so they’ll lead the big shots from the Snow Mountain region—including Maotian—to search for it.
2. Volcanic Ash Stone: Since there aren’t many leaders or players in the Lava Volcano region, this task will be handled by the leaders from Grapevine Peak. After all, the fastest way is actually to enter the Lava Dungeon to search for it.
3. Rainforest Black Mud: Led by Yu Shen, they’ll join forces with the leaders of the Rainforest and Wave Mountain regions to search. They’ll have to navigate floods and torrential storms, braving the dangers of the swamps to reach the black mud area.
4. The leaders of Flag-Raising Mountain also face their own challenges. With the largest player base and the most scattered community, they must assist all players in successfully relocating. They’ll coordinate with the Grapevine Peak players to manage and organize the settlement of players arriving from all directions—a massive undertaking that will surely keep Firelight running around nonstop.
5. The remaining guild members’ tasks are to build walls, dig trenches, and construct fences and traps—all major undertakings as well.
6. As for the two Eyes of the Otherworld and one animal part required for the container, that task was left to Jian Xingyi and Shanhai.
After Jian Xingyi issued the announcement, players across the entire server responded enthusiastically.
This is so different from the second run—it’s so much easier with so many people now!
The relocation was in full swing; both Grapevine Peak and Long Live for A Hundred Years had to help settle the players. Amidst all the chaos, Jian Xingyi and Shanhai set out once again for Wave Mountain.
Wave Mountain holds countless secrets—ruins, for instance, and the very thing they’re searching for this time… the Eye of the Otherworld.
This was the answer Shanhai had obtained using his final pouch.
—When you find the Heart of the Ocean, you will see the Eye of the Otherworld. So they teleported to Wave Mountain, preparing to head to its very depths.
Just as snow-capped mountains possess the Heart of the Snow and volcanoes the Core of the Fire God, Wave Mountain also has such an underground realm—a place they had yet to explore.
Back on the familiar ship, with a long journey ahead, Jian Xingyi once again organized his backpack and system. His gear was already quite impressive: an S-rank gun, A-rank armor, and 256 combat power.
His backpack was still filled with a pile of Plants vs. Zombies items—he’d stockpiled quite a few using timed planting—which he planned to toss directly onto the city walls once they were built.
Some map items, such as compasses, hunting traps, and wind gauges.
Spirit Battle Charms, Wish Charms, and Snow Spirit Charms.
The Unity Anchor.
The Eye, Tiger Claw, and Snake Scale—ingredients for crafting a transdimensional container. A fragment of the Sacred Tree, whose purpose remains unknown for now.
66 management vouchers, nearly 530 plots of land, and 40 livestock areas. A substantial stockpile of food and medicine.
Sunflowers, rubber trees, eggs, and chicken meat—their uses are currently unknown. Blue vines that can purify land, vines, and snow lotuses that aid in construction.
Plus, 5 precious Savior’s Wish Bottles. There were originally four, but now, because of…
【Become the Life-Saver: Reward 666 dawn coins, 6666 Savior Experience Points, 【Wish Bottle】 x1】
【How to Achieve: Sell medicines that heal wounds and infections】So he gained another Wish Bottle.
These are all items usable during the third zombie wave!
And now that the third zombie wave is about to begin, he’s made some adjustments to the food he sells. The seeds he currently has…
Basic rice, wheat, daikon radishes, and carrots—these don’t fetch much money, so he lists them alongside rice as basic food items for guild point redemption. This includes Grade A bamboo shoots and chili peppers, which can be exchanged for free with higher point values.
As for the S-grade items—watermelons, mung beans, potatoes, lychees, ginger, coffee, sugarcane, and ginseng, each with various bonuses—these are the Guild’s primary source of revenue.
Jian Xingyi began to ponder.
Now that he had the Merchants’ Guild, his food and livestock were never enough. Perhaps he needed more farmland and pasture to prepare for the final battle.
“Xingxing,” Shanhai said, “We’re about to reach our destination. Get ready.”
The Heart of the Ocean was actually a strait; to enter it, they had to pass through a whirlpool. Jian Xingyi blinked and tugged at Shanhai’s sleeve.
“……”
That was indeed the best preparation. Shanhai chuckled softly.
Then the ship sailed into the massive whirlpool.
