SYNOPSYS:
Nan Liujing woke up to find himself kidnapped by an evil game system called Island Survival. From then on, he said goodbye to Planet Earth; the rest of his life was now tied to a barren, desolate little island.
What do they mean by “starting with one island, all resources depend on the grind”?
Facing a deserted island where even birds wouldn’t poop, Nan Liujing developed a hoarding habit.
No way. He had to start grinding!!!
He went beachcombing, farmed, raised slimes, and whenever he had free time, he set sail to explore resource islands and trade with the natives.
Gradually, the tiny island expanded again and again, and the wasteland turned into fertile fields. Ranches were opened, windmills were built, and Nan Liujing could not only be self-sufficient but also regularly set up stalls on the natives’ islands to sell agricultural products. The money he earned was immediately turned around to buy more practical alchemy tools.
Automatic sprinklers? Good stuff, bought!
After the 30-day novice period passed, the game revealed its sinister true face. Natural disasters struck one after another: extreme cold, high temperatures, rainstorms, eternal night… every 30 days brought a severe test to the players.
Nan Liujing was always among the best-prepared group.
When the blizzard arrived, Nan Liujing sat in his warm farmhouse, toasting by the cozy fireplace, sipping hot cocoa while stroking the cat curled up into a ball on his lap.
Ah, bliss.
It wasn’t that the game lacked combat elements, but “Life-type” players didn’t care for all that killing and fighting.
Of course, if some blind fool dared to disturb his farming, Nan Liujing would unhesitatingly… plant them into the soil.
Important Note: The setting of this article is inspired by several Harvest Moon games. Any similarities are definitely my tribute!
