AFIAG Chapter 122

A Huge Sum

Previously, Jian Xingyi hadn’t been able to view the Alliance description, but now that he’d unlocked it, a detailed guide appeared with a single click.

【One of the objectives of the Savior System is to help connect players; this applies to both guilds and alliances.】

【Alliance: Allows the merger of all guilds】

Jian Xingyi: “?”

Huh?

What?

Jian Xingyi thought he must have misread it, so he rubbed his eyes and read it again. Merge… all guilds.

All of them!!

Jian Xingyi took a closer look. That meant if the Alliance was actually established, guild bases could be moved to Peaceful Mountain or Peace Mountain!

That’s just… insane.

Jian Xingyi hurriedly checked how to activate it.

【Alliance Formation Requirements】

1. Guild President’s reputation must reach 300

2. Guild President’s available assets must reach 5 billion

3. Merchant Guild Level: 5

Jian Xingyi froze.

Perhaps because the alliance granted such extensive privileges, the requirements were correspondingly stringent. The other conditions weren’t a problem—he’d already met them—but 5 billion… that was way too much!

His total assets at the moment—including the guild’s funds, zombie wave rewards, and trading profits— amounted to a mere 700 million, and that 700 million was the result of months of hard work.

5 billion was simply outrageous.

Reaching Guild Level 5 isn’t easy. They’re currently at Level 2, and while going from Level 1 to 2 wasn’t difficult, the higher they go, the more experience points they’ll need, which means they’ll need a lot of active members.

Jian Xingyi scratched his head and decided to put it aside for now. Maybe later he could discuss it with everyone and see what to do. After all, the benefits of the alliance were too great; he couldn’t just give it up on a whim.

At that moment, Jian Xingyi arrived at the Lava Volcano; he had another task to complete. Jian Xingyi exclaimed excitedly, “My chickens…!”

Shanhai said helplessly, “It’s a pet chicken.”

“Oh…!”

Jian Xingyi needed to return to the farm outside the Air Wall to purchase the farm. The two headed straight for the Fire God’s Belly, descended to the Earth’s Core, and made their way toward the Air Wall.

“Cough, cough, cough…” Jian Xingyi sat in front of the motorcycle, feeling a bit dizzy.

The Fire God’s Belly was just like the surface—most of the vegetation had been burned away. If the surface of the Lava Volcano was already that hot, the Fire God’s Belly was naturally even hotter.

Upon descending to the Earth’s core, Shanhai also furrowed his brow slightly.

Previously, after being touched by magma, the Earth’s core would sprout new vegetation, as if spring had arrived, but that was not the case now. Jian Xingyi saw the Earth’s core coming alive along with the volcano; the magma dripping and boiling all around made the air scorching hot.

Jian Xingyi paused. “It seems we can’t reach the air wall…”

So this was the true face of the Earth’s core.

It seemed that after the natural disasters were fused, the volcanoes on this map had come to life.

Shanhai said, “Use the Priest’s Robe.”

“Right…!”

This was the item reward they’d received after clearing Nectar of the Gods 2.0—and now it was finally coming in handy. With the Priest’s Robe providing cover—even if it was a one-time use—it would at least help them navigate the endless streams of lava.

The good news was that because of the lava, there weren’t many zombies left; Jian Xingyi and Shanhai reached the air wall without even having to shoot much.

The farm wasn’t a particularly dangerous place, so Jian Xingyi went in alone.

Just like last time, it was still a peaceful little rural town.

Jian Xingyi headed straight for his destination, and sure enough… all the livestock pens here were marked as available for purchase! Jian Xingyi was overjoyed.

Now he had plenty of redemption vouchers—a full 66 of them—so there was absolutely no need to hold back. Jian Xingyi went ahead and bought up all the livestock farms in the surrounding area, spending 15 vouchers.

Good news: he instantly gained 15 new livestock farms!

The bad news was that 15 farms meant he’d need more feed, so his farmland wouldn’t quite be enough.

His home originally had 20 breeding zones; now, with these added, he has a total of 35. As for farmland… There are 100 plots at the Volcano Farm, and he can’t redeem any more there. The remaining 150 are at home, 10 on the slopes of Peace Mountain, 50 in the Flag-Raising Mountain cave, 20 in the Flag-Raising Mountain dungeon, 10 in the Snow Mountain Temple, 65 at the Peace Mountain Air Wall, 5 at the Lava Volcano, 30 at the Snake Nest, and 40 on the Deserted Island—totaling roughly 500 plots of land.

On these 500 plots, he plans to grow not only the standard crops but also a small number of vines and the auxiliary combat plants from the Plants vs. Zombies series, and now the feed supply is plentiful.

But while fields can be bought later, these livestock farms are not to be missed. After all, these farms come with animals included!

Jian Xingyi saw that among the 15 rural households, there were plenty of cows, heep, pigs, and chickens!

Jian Xingyi was overjoyed; he would finally get to eat eggs and chicken.

And these eggs… were S-grade!

Up until now, all his animals had been of ordinary grade, with only one fish being A-grade; this was his very first S-grade item! Jian Xingyi was very excited, wondering what kind of bonus effects he would get after harvesting the eggs.

After filling the remaining empty spots in the livestock area with his own animals, Jian Xingyi headed to the well he’d found earlier.

Beneath the entrance was the moisture-proof storage area the villagers had built earlier. After jumping down into the well, Jian Xingyi was surprised to find that the game meat he’d stored there last time… was still fresh!

Jian Xingyi was overjoyed—this meant the place could serve as his storage!

Jian Xingyi immediately moved the game meat and potatoes—which took up a lot of space in his backpack—into this storage area. This was his new granary.

Building a public trade post costs 1 million, but after some thought, Jian Xingyi spent 500,000 dawn coins to establish a private trade post here that only he could use.

This way, the next time he came, he wouldn’t have to go out of his way to pass through the air wall; he could even do it the other way around—teleport here first, then walk straight out to the Earth’s core.

After finishing all this, Jian Xingyi and Shanhai left the sweltering volcano and headed for Flag-Raising Mountain.

Flag-Raising Mountain was exactly as they had imagined. The moment they stepped into the map’s boundaries, they felt the wind blowing past them—sharp and biting like knives. Jian Xingyi covered his face with his coat and, supported by Shanhai… or rather, dragged along by Shanhai, made his way to a suitable spot to set up the trade post.

But to their surprise, while the trade posts for Peace Mountain and Lava Volcano cost 1 million, the one for Flag-Raising Mountain cost 100 million.

Jian Xingyi frowned and clicked on the description, discovering that the farther the trading post was from the owner’s location—in this case, Peace Mountain—the higher the cost.

Presumably, since Flag-Raising Mountain not only had the largest population but also the largest map area, the distance was calculated as greater, causing the dawn coin cost for the trade post to skyrocket to 100 million.

This is… way too exploitative!! Jian Xingyi was stunned.

His current 700 million in assets might sound like a lot, but if he had to secure all the trade posts, not only would the cost be astronomical, but he wouldn’t even have enough. Jian Xingyi took a deep breath and, with a heavy heart, spent the massive sum to secure the post.

Two days later, when the two arrived at the freezing, life-threatening Thousand Bells Snow Mountain, the price at the trade post had already jumped to 200 million.

But what worried Jian Xingyi was… Rainforest Mountain and Wave Mountain weren’t exactly small either. In an instant, Jian Xingyi was left with only 400 million.

He and Shanhai borrowed a vehicle and parked it by the trade post—that is, by the lake at the foot of the snow-capped mountain—to rest and regroup.

Why choose to set up the trade post by the lake? Aside from the fact that the lakeside lies at the center and mid-slope of the Snow Mountain, and is close to the mountain’s only guild, there was also Jian Xingyi’s personal motive.

Jian Xingyi had obtained quite a few seeds at the volcano earlier and needed to soak them in the lake to undergo rebirth. Setting up the trade post here would also make it convenient for him to process the seeds later.

However, it was freezing cold. After setting up the trading post, a blizzard struck. Jian Xingyi’s lips turned white from the cold—not even ginger tea could help—so he couldn’t stand it any longer and retreated back into the car, having absolutely no desire to wait outside for the seeds to soak.

With the blizzard raging outside, Jian Xingyi curled up in the car, hugging Shanhai for warmth. He explained the situation to Bai Jie and the others and discussed alliance matters with them.

Although Jian Xingyi could get dawn coins from anyone just by waving his hand right now, still…

Xinghe: 【This isn’t a sustainable solution. The Alliance needs massive funds, and we can’t just keep plugging the holes like this.】

Bai Jie, Cangshui, and the others could hand over all their guild’s dawn coins to him, but what then?

The Alliance was formed specifically to deal with the upcoming zombie tide. If even powerful guilds were drained of their resources, leaving them without the means to handle the crisis, wouldn’t that be putting the cart before the horse?

Bai Jie: 【But the Alliance is our only solution right now. We absolutely cannot give up on this.】

Just then, a notification sound came from Jian Xingyi’s interface.

【Rice cultivation is no easy task. The rice is currently merging with the soil… Progress 100/100%】

【Sunflowers are difficult to cultivate; they are currently absorbing nutrients from the soil… Progress 40/100%】

【Rice has completed integration and is ready for harvest!】

 Jian Xingyi: “!”

His SS-rank seed!

Jian Xingyi couldn’t wait to open the backend interface, where he saw that the rice was indeed marked as ready for harvest. After harvesting, Jian Xingyi opened the description. He was taken aback.

Jian Xingyi’s highest-yielding crop was currently potatoes. On B-grade fields, most seeds yielded 20–30, but potatoes yielded 90–120, yet the rice’s yield surpassed even that, reaching 150.

And that’s not all…

【“The rice has fused with the land; its will to live and survive is everlasting. It can grow and thrive anywhere.”】

The system still doesn’t like to speak plainly, but that’s okay—Jian Xingyi just needed to open the description to get the gist of it.

Sure enough, upon opening it, there was a detailed guide inside. He has to say, it really lives up to the prestige of an SS-class seed.

Jian Xingyi understood: once you obtain the seed, you can plant this rice anywhere—it doesn’t necessarily require a guild base or farmland.

This is practically a cheat code for all players.

After all, players can’t stockpile crops like Jian Xingyi simply because they lack farmland and farming skills—and since these skills can’t be upgraded once you’re in-game, if you don’t have them, you don’t have them. It’s not like combat power, which you can grind up.

But with rice, players wouldn’t have to worry about this problem anymore!

This is also extremely convenient for Jian Xingyi; he can use the farmland he saves for other things. Jian Xingyi took a deep breath.

This is… the power of an SS-rank!!

Unbelievable!

It’s just too mind-blowing!

It really can feed everyone.

Jian Xingyi had the beginnings of an idea, so he opened the group chat for the cadres.

Xinghe: 【I’ve come up with an idea for how to raise funds, but I’m not sure if it’ll work.】

Jian Xingyi thought to himself: Before his memories returned, he had spent most of his time in a daze… No, that’s not quite right—it’s more accurate to say he lacked initiative. For instance, he wouldn’t argue with others, wouldn’t get involved in conflicts, and wouldn’t overthink things.

He just wanted to live a quiet, peaceful life, and most of the time, he acted in accordance with the system’s objectives.

But once his past life experiences returned, Jian Xingyi discovered he had actually become smarter… well, maybe that’s not quite right, but he had more ideas and could consider more factors.

It felt as if his horizons had suddenly broadened. Jian Xingyi shared the rice in the group chat.

Bai Jie: 【Oh my god… this is the real deal. How much are you planning to charge?】

Xinghe: 【This is riceless. It’s too precious—no price would be appropriate. But charging too much would go against the spirit of this plant and our original intentions.】

Not only that, but the rice would also affect the sales of other food items. Now that everyone is fighting natural disasters and zombies, if everyone really had access to rice, the resulting oversupply of other foods would hurt Jian Xingyi’s income. Without income, what’s the point of an alliance?

Xinghe: 【In that case… I have an idea.】

Bai Jie: 【Hmm?】

Xinghe: 【The guild can act as a bank—this batch of rice will be our seed money!】
