TAMTV Chapter 19

Thinking Carefully

The work of repairing the house looked lively, and in fact, it only took five or six days to make the dilapidated small yard bought from the village head completely new and ready for people to live in.

While the house itself was fine, it had been vacant for a long time; the furniture in the house had long been unusable, and there were barely any daily necessities, all of which he had to prepare by himself. Moving and settling down were so cumbersome.

Fortunately, with the help of Lin Laogen, the furniture was much easier to handle. He helped him find a carpenter in the village to make it. Although he couldn’t make the beautifully carved and high-end furniture in the carpenter’s shop in the town, the furniture he made was still strong and durable. The most important thing was that the carpenters in the village were cheaper than those in the town, so Lin Laogen was kindly helping him save money.

Wu Qingyuan was not short of silver right now, but he had no plans to live in this house in the long term.

With the matter regarding their furniture done, there were things he needed–other odds and ends of daily necessities, quilts, beds, pots and pans, and all kinds of oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar had to be bought.

Thinking about it thoroughly, Wu Qingyuan simply took Zhou-ger to town. As a ger who was taught to marry and take care of the family since he was a child, he would be far more knowledgeable in this area than Wu Qingyuan; after all, there had been a time when the Zhou’s had been kind to him. He could also take these opportunities to get acquainted with this ‘cousin ’.

In the morning, after getting up to change clothes and having breakfast, Wu Qingyuan would take Zhou-ger out.

Before leaving, he saw Lin Amo in the yard. He couldn’t help but ask, “Amo, the farms aren’t busy today. Do you want to go to town with us?”

After having lived with the Lin family for almost half a month, he understood Lin Amo’s personality well enough to know that the other liked to run around.

But who knows what happened that suddenly the boy who was usually lively and liked to join in the fun suddenly changed his rules today, shook his head, smiled, and said, “I need to help Dad sew clothes today,” and ran back to the house.

Wu Qingyuan was a bit regretful, but he could only give up and leave with Zhou-ger.

Today was not the designated market day. Although there were many people in the town, it was not crowded. Wu Qingyuan took the initiative to chat with Zhou-ger while taking him to buy the necessities after the move. Zhou-ger was too cautious. It was up to him to take the initiative.

But it was not bad. Zhou-ger and Lin Amo have had a good time since they were young, and their personalities have a lot in common. He started talking about Zhou Daniu, and after thinking about it, he gave Zhou Daniu’s black-and-white photo from the 1960s to the ger.

Holding his brother’s photo, Zhou-ger was very moved. He also heard Wu Qingyuan make up some of his “aunts” who lived abroad and how they missed him, and so on.

After using family as a way to attack, Zhou-ger quickly opened his mind and got close to him a lot. He called his cousin a bit more naturally, and Wu Qingyuan took him to the cloth shop to make clothes, and he did not refuse. Shyly accepting them for the first time in so many years, he felt the love of his family.

However, when Wu Qingyuan chose all the best fabrics, he was still a little flattered.

“I really don’t need so many; I have enough clothes to wear- these- these are too expensive. Just buy that kind of coarse linen…”

Wu Qingyuan could accept clothes made for him with better linen, but people in the village usually wore coarse linen, and the clothes with good materials would be reserved for the New Year and New Year holidays. But at this moment, Wu Qingyuan bought so many of them at once– good cloth for him; he was a little frightened by how much money it cost.

“Cousin– I-I don’t have to wear that; let’s just save the silver to buy land.”

Zhou-ger pulled Wu Qingyuan and persuaded him in a low voice.

He didn’t know how much money Wu Qingyuan had, but Wu Qingyuan had settled in the village just recently– he bought a house, asked people to repair the house, bought furniture, and now he was here to buy daily necessities. Wouldn’t he run out of money?

Now that he has spent so much money, he intends to make a few clothes for himself. In the future, their days would be long. His cousin has not bought any land or gotten married, so he has spent all his money on him. He can’t be a burden.

“You don’t need to worry about matters regarding silver, and you don’t need to be polite with me. You can call me your brother– the eldest brother was like a father; there is no need to be so modest and shy towards me. Don’t worry, cousin has his own way. Come and take a look. Which color does Lin-ger like? We’ve disturbed them for so long, so we should give something…”

Knowing that Zhou-ger was also simple and slightly naive, Wu Qingyuan smiled and explained, without too much entanglement, that he had directly shifted his attention and asked him to come over and help him choose.

The price of cloth in the cloth shop was indeed very high, and a piece of ordinary cotton required half a silver coin. Wearing this material for every piece of clothing was indeed very luxurious in the eyes of the villagers, but he would definitely not be treated badly if he could afford it.

He could earn more money if he ran out of money, and he didn’t need to wrong himself and suffer. After one death, he understood the saying of enjoying life better than anyone else.

Zhou-ger didn’t know how to persuade him. He was touched by what he said. He really felt that the villagers were right. He was now transferred and couldn’t refuse the person, and could only come up to help with the selection.

“Cousin, Amo likes blue, buy this…”

He and Lin Amo have been friends for more than ten years, and they naturally know each other’s preferences. Soon, he helped Wu Qingyuan choose a light blue cotton cloth. The light color really suited Lin-ger.

Wu Qingyuan chose a bit more, directly asking the boss to wrap it up, and then continued asking Zhou-ger about Lin Amo’s other preferences.

“…Amo also likes watching juggling. Every year, he would come to watch the jugglers in town, and he would pull me to watch secretly at night. Haha– Uncle Lin always said that he didn’t know how to follow rules. In fact, Amo only likes to join in the fun. By the way, Amo likes snacks, sugar cakes, osmanthus cakes, and sesame oil pastries, but the snacks are too expensive, so  he could only eat them once during the Chinese New Year…”

Zhou-ger didn’t doubt his words either. He said that he was grateful to the Lin family for their help in taking him in during this time, and he naturally said what he knew.

“Are these available in grocery stores?”

Wu Qingyuan listened quietly, secretly noted these down, and then asked.

“Some have, some don’t. There is no dim sum shop in our town, and the grocery store does not always sell it. You have to go to see it to find out. By the way, cousin, we could go to the FuJi grocery store on East Street. Look, his family has the most complete set of things. We could buy oil and salt along the way, and he could send other things to the village if there is something missing.”

Zhou-ger also guessed that he probably wanted to buy some more snacks to give to the Lin family as a thank-you gift; they were the family who had taken them in during this time. He offered suggestions and agreed with Wu Qingyuan’s way of wanting to be thankful.

He was happy to give thanks to the Lin family, as it should be, and to Amo, he was happy to send him cloth, but he was definitely happier to give him a snack. He knows his friends’ preferences too well.

“Well, it’s too hot. I’ll go buy it. You rest here and wait for me.”

After Zhou-ger wrote down the name of the grocery store, Wu Qingyuan asked him to stay in the cloth shop and wait, and then went out by himself, leaving Zhou-ger at the cloth shop looking at a pile of good cloth, happy and worried.

Here, Wu Qingyuan went out of the cloth shop and ran directly to the FuJi grocery store on East Street.

He had been to town several times, and now he was very familiar with it, and he could find a place without asking someone to guide him.

He walked very fast along the way. Almost from the description of Zhou-ger, he could imagine the boy smiling happily after receiving the snack, and he couldn’t wait.

He also didn’t quite understand why he was doing this. Although he had just told Grandpa Zhou-ger that he just wanted to thank the Lin family for buying something and giving gifts, he was thinking about what to buy and give to Lin Amo specifically.

Wu Qingyuan’s IQ was not low, but there were some problems with his EQ. It was not that his EQ was low, but that his EQ was very high in analyzing things; he paused when it came to himself.

He has lived for more than 30 years in his past and present life, and he has seen countless beauties and beautiful boys, and he has never lacked people who took the initiative to offer him courtesy, but he has never had any contact with them.

Friends who knew him even doubted whether or not he had a physical problem. The beauty of the bumpy and hot body, the beautiful boy with white skin and tempting crime, all stripped off and standing in front of him, he didn’t even react!

Even he himself doubted whether he really had a physical problem, but the normal reaction of a man every morning proved that his body was normal.

So he always thought that he was just a little bit more self-controlled than the average person. He wanted to find someone who impressed him. His fate had not yet arrived. Over time, he became more insensitive to this aspect of EQ.

At this moment, Wu Qingyuan, who had low EQ, had only thought that he might have developed a good impression of Lin Amo, but when Lin Amo received a gift, his eyes were crooked, and his heartbeat quickened. After thirty years, this silent heart of his was unexpectedly agitated.

Soon he ran to the FuJi grocery store on East Street to buy the things, and he was about to return to the cloth shop when he came out, but suddenly he saw a figure sneaking past in front of him.

Although the other party covered his head and face with a cloth towel and then blocked his face with his hands, Wu Qingyuan recognized who it was at a glance: his flexible figure, and the person he saw just this morning. If not Lin Amo, who was it?

Before he could say hello, he saw the young man flexibly turn into an alley and enter a place that looked like a restaurant, but not a restaurant at the entrance of the alley.

“Hey, big brother, what is the building opposite?”

There was a plaque at the entrance of that building, but it was a pity that Wu Qingyuan didn’t recognize the characters there, so he could only ask a passing man

The man froze for a moment, then he looked up and down and replied, “Brother, are you from outside? That’s the Drunken Flower Tower, don’t you know the famous building in Shiqiao Town?”

“……”

When the words fell, Wu Qingyuan’s eyelids jerked.
