The Demon King, who’s just gone through a breakup: “?”

Blah blah blah, our signature dating move, blah blah blah. Are we dating?

When did I agree to this?

You insolent N card, how dare you act on your own!

For some reason, his previous sense of loss vanished completely, the pain in his wings disappeared, and his demon tail began to wag involuntarily.

Demon King: “Tsk. When did I ever agree to a relationship between us?”

Demon King: “You haven’t passed my test yet.”

Tang Mian hurriedly said, “Look at this, Boss! This is the highly-rated card log I just posted! I think I have a certain talent for managing card logs!”

Tsk. What kind of good card log could an N card possibly produce? Showing the daily squabbles of noobs? Or showing a combat value of 1?

【Tang Mian shared a card log with you】

Players can view the card logs for any card without any restrictions.

If a Card wants to view another Card’s card log, it must first become friends with that Card before it can access and view the other Card’s card log.

Alternatively, as Tang Mian is doing now, a card can share a link to a specific card log with the Demon King, granting the Demon King permission to view that particular card log.

Under normal circumstances, the Demon King wouldn’t even bother clicking on an N card’s card log.

N card players’ friends are all N cards too; the highest friend tier is probably just R cards—they’ve never seen the big leagues on social media.

He supposed an N card like Tang Mian might think a card log with a few thousand likes is a big deal, not realizing that SSR cards like them can easily rack up hundreds of thousands of likes with a single post.

The Demon King casually tapped to open it.

Tang Mian: “After a fierce battle, let’s stretch together~ 【Photo】.”

In the photo, Tang Mian was wearing the coarse linen robe that comes with his combat card by default. Whether it was because his movements were too exaggerated or he intentionally lifted his robe, the hem had ridden up, revealing a sliver of his waist.

Everyone who saw this photo probably didn’t know at first whether to focus their gaze on Tang Mian’s delicate, beautiful profile or on the curves from her waist down.

That voluptuous, eye-catching, and blushing-inducing curve. Damn! His waist is so slim. So fair. And that butt is so perky…

The Demon King had never seen anything like this before. His mouth went dry.

He didn’t even know where to look.

Demon King: “………….. Damn.”

The Demon King, feeling dizzy and sweltering, glanced at the stats next to the image and saw that this card log had actually racked up 10,000 likes within ten minutes of being posted—better than the stats for most SR cards.

Demon King: “?” Is that even reasonable?

The Demon King took another look at the cat stretch image. Demon King: “…” Damn, actually, it makes perfect sense.

But how come there are also several thousand comments? Where did these players get all this nonsense? The Demon King took a closer look.

Top Comment:

【Wife】

The reason these two short characters made it to the top of the comments is that Tang Mian replied to him: “Isn’t it a bit too intimate to call me that on our first meeting? You can call me ‘Baby’ for now.”

Demon King: “?”

Second most popular comment:

【Baby, I love you】

Tang Mian replied with a heart emoji.

Demon King:“??”

Third Most Popular Comment:

【Holy crap, there’s a newcomer in the palace!!! I’ve never seen this one before!!!】

Tang Mian didn’t reply to this one, but in the comments below, a bunch of players started calling her “My Beloved Consort” and “Empress,” and some even said they’d crown Tang Mian emperor the moment they went online.

Demon King: “???”

Damn?! Wasn’t this card log supposed to be sent just to me? How come all these players have it too?!

What does this mean?

Aren’t they supposed to be dating me? What the heck is this all about?!

The Demon King opened the chat window with the Battle Angel.

Amid a string of nothing but fight challenges, the Demon King posted a message that was out of character for the first time. Demon King: “Bro, I’m feeling a little under the weather.”

No reply from Battle Angel—he was probably busy.

Demon King: “Bro, do you remember that N card I showed you a picture of today?”

Battle Angel replied instantly: “How’s your body feeling?”

Demon King: “No, I’m not feeling physically unwell— I’m feeling uneasy. I thought that N card was an innocent card, but now I feel like it’s a bit different from what I imagined. Bro, could you take a look for me?”

Battle Angel: “It’s my pleasure.”

Demon King: “Here’s his card log 【Image】.”

Battle Angel: “It’s photoshopped.”

Demon King: “No, no. I don’t want you to see this.”

Demon King: “Here’s the comments section for this card log 【Image】.”

Demon King: “Bro, do you think he is an innocent, decent card worth my time?”

In less than half a second, the Demon King received a categorical reply from the Battle Angel: “No.”

Battle Angel calmly analyzed: “The copy’s ‘Come with me’ is highly provocative, unconsciously drawing the viewer into the boyfriend’s perspective, while the pose in the photo—which appears to be a stretch—is actually designed to showcase his physique.”

Battle Angel: “Such a low-brow tactic—I just never expected my good buddy, SSR card Castilio, the Flame Monarch, Salvasan, the Demon King, to actually be swept off their feet by a mere N card’s two simple images.”

Demon King: “Holy crap, bro, you’ve got me all wrong— that N card was the one who asked to date me! I wasn’t charmed at all; I’ve got my own rhythm. Right now, I’m just discussing with you whether he’s pure or not!”

Battle Angel: “In my opinion, a card like you—who’s dedicated to battle and keeps himself pure—deserves only another great card that’s equally focused on self-improvement.”

Demon King: “Holy crap, bro. Let’s drop it. Good buddy.”

The Demon King closed the chat window with Battle Angel, as if he’d made up his mind. He replied to Tang Mian: “Your card log style isn’t my type.”

He could accept photo editing, but he couldn’t accept Tang Mian flirting with others—this was a matter of principle!

Tang Mian wasn’t surprised by the Demon King’s reply.

After all, the Demon King was clearly into that “domineering CEO falls for me” romance trope, which was completely at odds with Tang Mian’s style.

Tang Mian asked, “What kind of style do you prefer for your card log? I think the operational logic behind card logs is similar. Although my style is different from yours, I have quite a bit of experience with character branding—whether it’s playing cute, the domineering CEO, or the aloof heartthrob, I know a thing or two. I hope you’ll give me a chance to show what I can do~.”

Demon King:“??”

For some reason, at that moment, the Demon King actually sensed a familiar yet inexplicable sense of awe emanating from this tiny N card. In particular, the screen filled with the word “pretend” reminded the Demon King of a certain bird-man.

The Demon King clicked into the Battle Angel’s card log.

There, he saw a post he’d just published a minute ago.

Battle Angel: “Just a quick peek 【Image】.”

The Battle Angel stood sword in hand, six snow-white wings spread out behind him, a radiance as dazzling as daylight flashing from every feather.

At that moment, the suddenly unfurled wings possessed not a trace of softness; instead, they were sharp enough to slice through the heavens. The long sword he held glinted with a brilliant light, as if embodying his most unyielding will, passing judgment on the kneeling demon.

Demon King:“…”

The Demon King finally understood why this bird-man insisted on facing him sideways—it turned out that the best camera angle was from their side. Facing sideways looked awkward from the Demon King’s perspective, but from the best camera angle, it was the angle where the Battle Angel’s wings looked most beautiful.

Unfortunately, the Demon King in this picture has just had his wings severed by the Battle Angel…

Comment 1:

“Those wings are absolutely divine—they’re a million times better-looking than those hairless bat wings over there.”

Demon King:”…” These are my dragon wings.

Comment 2:

“He brought the Demon King to his knees without even trying. If he went all out, there’d be no contest for the top card battle power—I’ve been saying all along that the Battle Angel is the strongest!”

Demon King: “… ”Damn it, I didn’t even go all out!

Comment 3:

“Why does the Demon King’s pose feel like he’s copying that Battle Angel’s viral battle damage image from last time?”

Other players replied to this comment as well. At first glance, the Demon King thought someone was sticking up for him: “No way—the Battle Angel’s previous pose was clearly way cooler. It had a real sense of drama, like a knight taking an oath. The Demon King just looks like he got knocked to his knees.”

Demon King: “………… ”I’ll be damned—why did I even have to open this birdbrain’s comment section, and why did I have to click on the nested comments?

Out of sight, out of mind—the Demon King quickly scrolled down and paused at random.

Battle Angel: “Beneath the dome, atop the fingertips. 【Image 1】 【Image 2】 【Image 3】”

The first photo shows a bird flying in the sky.

The second photo shows a yellowed sheet of sheet music and the Battle Angel’s hand flipping through it.

The third photo shows the Battle Angel sitting atop the deserted Holy Dome, playing a massive pipe organ, as the evening sun streams through the stained-glass windows, bathing his solitary, elegant figure in light.

Top Comment: “I feel like I’m seeing a lonely and profound soul.”

Demon King: “…” How on earth did you figure that out?

Every time the Demon King sees a card log in this style from the Battle Angel, he feels uneasy all over. He swipes down quickly, then stops at a random spot.

Battle Angel: “Reading a book late at night—that moment of silence is worth more than a million victories 【Image 1】 【Image 2】.”

Accompanying images: An open book and Battle Angel’s silhouette standing by the window, gazing into the distance.

Top Comment: “I feel like Battle Angel’s thoughts are really deep—way beyond that Demon King next door who only knows how to post about drinking and fighting. Anyone else feel this way?”

Demon King: “………………. ” Damn.

The Demon King glanced at his card log.

【Monday】 Drinking.

【Tuesday】 Drinking.

【Wednesday】 Drinking.

【Thursday】 If I lose to that bird-man again tomorrow, I’m giving up alcohol for a week!

【Friday】Drinking really messes things up…

【Saturday】Good drink.

The Demon King looked at it again and again.

No problem at all! Isn’t that what battle card games are all about—drinking the strongest liquor and fighting the fiercest battles?! Aside from that bird guy, who else would post all kinds of scenic photos, clips of niche instruments being played, book notes, and all sorts of gibberish that makes no sense?!

The Demon King was furious.

The Demon King randomly picked a few screenshots of the Battle Angel’s card logs and sent them to Tang Mian.

Then the Demon King picked out a few more card logs where he thought he’d been drinking particularly boldly and fighting particularly coolly, and forwarded them to Tang Mian. Demon King: 【I don’t get where my card logs fell short—how come that weirdo’s stats are so much better than mine?】

Tang Mian: “There is indeed a significant gap in the stats between your card logs and the opponent’s, but losing to a ‘competition-level artsy guy’ like that is actually reasonable.”

Demon King: “?” What “Competition-level artsy guy”?

Tang Mian: “Take this card log of him playing the pipe organ, for example. The caption may seem to consist of only eight characters, but in reality, every character has been carefully designed, and the images are equally carefully selected, and the post-processing color grading is consistent—you can tell he’s really going for that vintage film aesthetic.”

Demon King: “?” Huh? They actually color-corrected that? He thought it was just too dark.

Tang Mian: “The pipe organ is a very difficult instrument to play, and at the same time, its sound easily evokes associations with eternity, grandeur, faith, and the sacred—it’s easy to cast a spell on him. At first glance, this card log seems to be showing off the niche instruments he can play, but this is only the first layer.”

Demon King: “?” Is there another layer?

Tang Mian: “Take a look at his first image. Considering the visual language of the photo alongside the first line of the copy—‘Beneath the Dome’—he isn’t photographing birds in flight; he’s using the image to convey a deeper meaning— the distant places he cannot reach, the loneliness of the prison within his heart.”

Demon King: “?” What?

Tang Mian: “None of the above is the most important thing—those are all things you can practice. The main point is that his character model is top-tier in the ‘artsy guy’ category: an angel, six wings, silver hair, and feathered ears covering his eyes. If he used a different model but still posted a bunch of artsy guy diary entries every day, people would beat him up before they even got a chance to see his lonely and profound soul.”

Demon King: “Damn!!!”

Now the Demon King finally got it! That’s right! He also thought this bird guy was asking for a beating! It was said so perfectly—the Demon King really wanted to drag Tang Mian aside and chat with him all afternoon!
