He spent two hours chopping down trees this morning, yielding 140 pieces of wood. 

Finished for the day. He passed by the farmland and took a look at the sunflowers. They’re growing exceptionally well—he was satisfied. 

He headed home.

Today, he plans to treat himself to a feast. Qiyu took stock of his supplies.

He now has edible game meat: barbarian fang boar meat, wild boar pork, gale rabbit meat, and gray-horned sheep meat. He’s only tried the barbarian fang boar meat before—cut into small pieces, skewered on wooden sticks, and roasted until tender. It was incredibly fragrant.

He was a bit torn about which one to eat. After thinking for a moment, it suddenly dawned on him: “I have so many of these—why should I have to choose? I’ll take them all!”

He took a piece of each one and cut it into thumb-sized chunks.

He’d heard the elders at the base say that the healthiest way to eat is to balance meat and vegetables.

As it happened, he’d just received a 1,000-gram fruit and vegetable gift pack today.

Qiyu took a look: it contained 500g of potatoes, 200g of cherry tomatoes, and 300g of green vegetables. He hadn’t tried any of them before. 

Qiyu picked up a potato, examined it carefully, and finally cut it into tiny cubes, just as he would a piece of meat.

He cut the cherry tomatoes in half. He did the same with the greens, slicing them into small pieces.

He took out an iron pot, washed it, and put water on to boil.

Once the water came to a boil, he added the meat, potato cubes, cherry tomatoes, and green vegetables. 

Gurgle, gurgle.

Qiyu stands by the iron pot, watching expectantly. 

The aroma quickly fills the air.

While waiting for the stew to cook, he went to check on the sunflowers again.

The system didn’t indicate they needed water, but he took the opportunity to practice his Waterball spell, giving them a good drink. He returned and glanced at the pot.

He opened the survival panel and scrolled through the chat channel for a moment. Two players were arguing over a trade.

The “01 survival squad” channel was quiet; everyone was busy gathering supplies today.

Qiyu glanced at the pot once more.

“The meat has changed color—it’s ready to eat,” he muttered to himself.

He took out the largest bowl from the set of tableware, filled it to the brim with stew, and added a spoonful of broth. The gray-horned sheep meat was the most tender; though it had a slight gamy flavor, it didn’t detract from the taste—it was delicious.

Barbarian fang boar meat—delicious.

Gale rabbit meat is the firmest, with a satisfying chew—delicious.

That vegetable called a potato had a powdery, fluffy texture—it was delicious! 

The cherry tomatoes were a bit sour, but they were passable. 

The green vegetable leaves turned yellow after cooking; the texture wasn’t as good as the previous items—it was almost like eating tree leaves. 

Overall, it was a very delicious stew. 

Qiyu ate this lavish lunch with a look of reverence, cleaning his plate completely. 1

After the meal, as usual, he spent two hours chopping wood. This time, he had better luck than this morning—he landed several critical hits and harvested 190 units of wood. 

Today’s wood harvest from chopping trees was 360 units, plus 40 units already in his backpack, and an additional 20 units from processing 【Tranquility Yields Transcendence】 and 【Dare Not Open My Eyes】.

That brings the total to 420 units of wood.

Just then, a private message arrived from 【Civil Engineering Brother】.

He sent 100 【simple trap – ground spikes】 to Qiyu. There was also other good news.

Also, 10 elementary magic scrolls and magic scroll crafting notes.

Qiyu couldn’t help but let out a gasp of admiration. Adding Civil Engineering Brother as a friend was truly a wise decision.

These items aren’t necessarily something you’d find on the trading page.

He was puzzled—why wasn’t the big shot reacting? These were all great items.

He knew 【I Love Survival Game】 wasn’t just anyone—those ordinary items hadn’t even made it to his screen.

These are all good items, but let’s take a closer look:

【Thorn Ring】 only boosts health, and since he has better jade gear, he can pass on this one. 

The 【Berserk Potion】 is something that could save his life in a critical moment, and Qiyu was very tempted.

But compared to the 【Berserk Potion】, he was more interested in the last item. An elementary magic scroll, which can store basic spells.

He had seen this mentioned in the elementary magic introduction.

Mages store their spells in magic scrolls, allowing even ordinary people with no magical aptitude to cast spells, making them a highly sought-after magical item.

Wood and food were essential resources at this stage and could be quickly traded for cash. He knew how rare the magic scroll was, so he was willing to make the trade.

In the end, Qiyu traded a green-quality short sword, 5 kg of barbarian fang boar meat, 60 units of wood, and a wooden bed for ten magic scrolls and magic scroll crafting notes.

At the same time, he received a system notification: the high-quality wooden axe he’d listed on the trading page had finally sold for his asking price, and 60 units of wood were traded away.

【Civil Engineering Brother: By the way, regarding the stuff you told me to keep an eye on—no one’s offering cotton anymore, and there’s no news on the cashmere flowers. I received two packets of seeds.】
