【Current Location: Star Forest.】
【Today’s Weather: Sunny, 25°C, light breeze (Force 3).】
Opening his personal panel, he thought, “As expected of a Safe Holiday—the weather is quite mild.”
Qiyu walked to the edge of the territory a n d looked out—the dampness caused by a month of freezing rain, as well as the icicles hanging from the trees, had all vanished.
The Star Forest had returned to the way it looked during the beginner phase: beautiful and serene.
Qiyu opened the zone chat and was surprised to find that so many people had actually stayed up late last night.
【Cockroach Taste Is So Weird: Last night was the first time I’ve stayed up late on purpose since joining the survival game—it really brought back some nostalgic feelings.】
【Be A Good Person: Exactly the same. My rational mind tells me these three days are meant for me to rest and recharge in preparation for the unknown month ahead. But now that it’s safe and comfortable, I just can’t bring myself to go to sleep.】
【Liver Emperor: I suggest everyone spend the remaining two days exploring the Star Forest as much as possible. Didn’t the Survival System mention earlier that on Safe Days, mutated creatures won’t attack proactively? With such a great opportunity, go find a few more treasure chests.】
【Irritable Brother: I’m begging you, @Liver Emperor, just shut up. I get nervous just hearing you talk.】
【Liver Emperor: I just realized—the top players have flying items. Wouldn’t they clear the map super fast?】
Qiyu: …
He silently left the zone chat.
Just then, his communication orb lit up. “Good morning, Dan Xingyu.”
“Good morning.”
Dan Xingyu’s voice, unusually, carried a hint of sleepiness: “I just woke up. I wanted to ask—are we going to your place today, or are you coming to mine?”
Qiyu: “You just got up?”
Dan Xingyu: “Yup, holidays are just perfect for sleeping in.”
Oh well, an alien probably wouldn’t get it!
Qiyu thought for a moment and said, “Come to Star Forest. I was just planning to take advantage of the nice weather today to plant all the seeds.”
Dan Xingyu was instantly curious: “Okay, I’ve actually been curious about your magical plants for a long time.” He got up and said, “In that case, I’ll make breakfast—it’ll be my gift for dropping by.”
Qiyu: Got it—you’re supposed to bring a gift when visiting a friend’s house.
Two farmer NPCs from the estate stepped out of the farmhouse and greeted Qiyu.
Perhaps because they were recruited from the farmhouse provided by the survival game, their daily routines closely matched the game’s schedule. Every morning at 8:30, they would emerge from the farmhouse right on time.
If Qiyu assigned him a task, he would carry it out. If no task was assigned, he would head to the farmland to keep an eye on things, helping to apply fertilizer and water the crops.
After 6:00 p.m., when it got dark, he would return directly to the farmhouse. A status update would also appear on Qiyu’s survival panel:
【Your subject, John, is currently resting.】
Since he was a farmer “automatically recruited” by the farmhouse, he didn’t even need Qiyu to provide food or pay him a wage; he was completely self-sufficient.
Qiyu gave Qiao the batch of seeds he had bought in Gold Hole City.
Perhaps because these seeds weren’t produced by the survival game, the concept of “farming” as Qiyu understood it was somewhat different.
As a farmer who never followed conventional farming methods, Qiyu was probably not as skilled at growing ordinary plants as these two proper farmers.
“Do you know how to grow these, Qiao?” He took out a few bags of seeds and handed them over.
Qiao took them, examined them closely, and exclaimed with delight, “These are all top-quality seeds.”
He nodded. “I can grow all of these.”
Qiyu also thought he probably knew how to do it, because on the subject panel he could see that Qiao had unlocked the “Farming” skill.
Moreover, Qiao’s cultivation level was “Mastery.”
Qiyu didn’t really have many plans for today. He figured he’d just plant the seeds from the magical plant mystery box he’d opened last time, then head to the small lake for a while, and then head to the Star Forest to explore a bit.
But since he’d unexpectedly invited over his friend, he thought all of that could wait until he arrived.
It was his first time hosting a friend, so he felt a bit excited but also a little unsure of what to do.
Not sure what to do. Hmm, never mind—I’ll just take him around and show him all the fun things in my territory when the time comes.
With that settled, he suddenly found himself with some free time.
He thought about squeezing in some cultivation time, but then remembered that God Has No Form had said he’d come to visit with breakfast—which meant he wouldn’t be gone for long. After a moment’s hesitation, Qiyu decided to check in on his subjects.
Though he called it “checking in,” the truth was that ever since Qiyu had acquired the Farmer’s Realm, the condition of all plants could appear in vivid detail in his mind.
Aside from the seven-colored flower, there hadn’t been any significant changes in the others.
The seven-colored flower, on the other hand, seemed delighted that the weather had cleared up on Safety Day—it had been basking in the sun without any rain—and hadn’t shown any signs of distress for two days now.
About half an hour later.
【Player “God Has No Form” has requested entry into your territory. Do you approve the request?】
Qiyu’s eyes lit up: “Approve.”
He stared at the tree without blinking.
Suddenly, a faint glow appeared around the tree trunk, and immediately afterward, a tall figure materialized right against it. From this angle, it really looked as if he had grown right out of the tree.
His outfit today was different from yesterday’s—short-sleeved shirt and light-colored casual pants—giving him an undeniably youthful appearance. Qiyu observed him for a moment and concluded, “You look much younger than you did yesterday.”
Dan Xingyu was carrying a lunchbox. Hearing this, she smiled and said, “These are clothes I got from a treasure chest. Since the weather’s been nice these past couple of days, I dug them out to wear.”
He tilted his head back, gazing in awe at the massive tree overhead: “Your treehouse looks so much more spectacular in person than it does in photos.” His gaze lingered on the treehouse before slowly shifting away to other directions.
He sighed, “So this is the Star Forest? You players in Zone 01 are just way too lucky.”
He held up the lunchbox in his hand: “Let’s eat first. After we finish, I’d like to ask the great Lord to take this country bumpkin from the desert on a tour.”
Qiyu looked at the lunchbox in his hand and said, “Let’s go eat in the garden.”
Dan Xingyu: “The garden? Isn’t your entire domain a garden?”
This wasn’t meant as a compliment. With the treehouse at its center, the entire domain was filled with blooming flowers and lush green grass.
Living in a mage’s robe made the people in this world of flowers…
Dan Xingyu thought, “With some people, you can tell at a glance that it’s only natural they’d be assigned to the forest.”
“It’s a garden structure that comes with the Survival Game when you upgrade your shelter.”
Qiyu led him along the fresh, smooth stone path to the garden.
The statue of the Nature Goddess stood quietly in the center of the garden, surrounded by flowers.
Qiyu placed breakfast on the stone table in the garden. Noticing Dan Xingyu looking at the statue, he introduced, “This is the statue of the Goddess of Nature.”
Seeing him bow with great reverence, placing one hand over his heart, Dan Xingyu imitated his gesture and bowed as well.
Seeing that Shan Xingyu looked pensive, Qiyu said, “This garden has the power to restore one’s vitality. You’ve felt it too, haven’t you?”
Dan Xingyu nodded.
Since they were coming to the Star Forest, he had prepared a breakfast of magnolia flower congee, paired with a box of sweet cakes shaped like green leaves. He hadn’t expected Qiyu to bring him straight to the garden to eat, but the beautiful food complemented the beautiful scenery perfectly. When Qiyu saw his green leaf cakes, he happily took out the flower-shaped pastries he’d won from a blind box the day before and placed them next to them.
“This way, it looks like they came straight from the same gift box,” he remarked earnestly.
Turning around, he saw Dan Xingyu leaning on the table with one hand, smiling at him. He asked curiously, “Why are you looking at me instead of the pastries?”
Dan Xingyu: “Mm-hmm, I’m looking at both.”
With a long list of plans still on his mind, Qiyu—unusually for him—didn’t pay much attention to the flavors of his breakfast; he only remembered that the congee was delicious.
The second thing he remembered was Dan Xingyu saying that, with so many flowers here, he could develop even more congee dishes featuring flowers in the future.
After breakfast, Qiyu took him to the small pond next to the garden to go fishing. “Oh, right,” he said, remembering something, and pointed toward the pond. “Look!”
When they first acquired the small lake, the water’s surface had naturally grown some beautiful aquatic plants and flowers. What Qiyu was pointing out to Dan Xingyu was the Candle Jade Lotus he’d given him last time.
“I planted it in the ground when I brought it here, and it’s growing really well there too.”
Later, after looking through a magical plant encyclopedia, he learned that most “lotus”-type flowers grow in water. So he tried transplanting one first.
And it survived.
The petals of the Candle Jade Lotus were as thin as a cicada’s wing, a crystal-clear, pure pinkish-white. It had already been exceptionally beautiful when it first bloomed in the soil, but now, standing on the lake’s surface—as clear as a mirror—its ethereal beauty reached its peak.
“I’ve taken exceptionally good care of it. As soon as I notice it’s not doing well, I cast a blessing spell on it.”
Dan Xingyu immediately agreed: “You’re amazing—it’s growing even better now than what I saw back in the resource zone.”
Qiyu immediately brightened up: “You like flowers. Now that we have a teleportation array, you can come over to admire them whenever you want.” He said it very casually, as if what he’d just blurted out were a simple, everyday remark.
“This is your territory, after all. Are you really comfortable letting me in here every day?”
Qiyu:?
Dan Xingyu watched as his expression turned bewildered, then hesitant. He was just about to explain that he was joking.
But then he heard Qiyu ask, “Dan Xingyu, don’t you want me to visit your territory?”
Dan Xingyu: “Of course!”
I know you’re a straight shooter, but that’s way too direct!
Realizing he couldn’t beat around the bush with Qiyu, he immediately backtracked: “Even if you came to my territory every day, I’d still welcome you.”
To back up his words, he gave an example: “My palace is so huge that it feels empty when I sleep alone at night.”
After saying that, he paused in surprise: Dan Xingyu, why are you spouting such nonsense?
However, Qiyu didn’t see anything wrong with what he said at all: “Really? Then can I go sleep in your Sun Palace?”
Dan Xingyu: …Huh?
