Qiyu’s heart skipped a beat as he opened his personal panel.

To his surprise, he found that his status bar also displayed an “Inspired” status. 

He checked the alchemy puppet at the energy tower, but unfortunately, there was nothing above either of their heads. It seemed that the screaming lily of the valley’s skill effect could only be applied to living beings.

A vine whizzed over to Qiyu’s side, swaying anxiously from side to side. “Hungry! Hungry!”

The demon vine was whipping about so fast it was creating afterimages. 

It had been excited—it had suddenly grown so, so much. But before it could celebrate for long, those annoying big things had also multiplied! It couldn’t compete—it just couldn’t compete at all!

Qiyu reassured it, “Don’t worry, don’t worry. I promise I’ll make sure you’re well-fed.”

He withdrew one of the energy towers, clearing several meters of space, and communicated with the demon vine using his mental power: “This area is yours. Can you hold it?” Worried the demon vine might not understand, he deliberately repeated himself several times.

Qiyu sensed the joy and respect conveyed by the demon vine. He reached out and accepted the flower just as carefully.

With a thought, wood-element magic surged through his fingertips, transforming into a tiny vine brooch that encircled the little flower. He pinned it to his chest, right next to his mage’s insignia. 

The demon vine returned proudly and confidently. It was unexpectedly clever, knowing to retract most of its vines and concentrate on guarding the area left vacant by the energy tower.

A new wave of swifts arrived.

This time, as always, it was the screaming lily of the valley that struck first. 

Qiyu heard a ceaseless, shrill scream.

Like an aura of inspiration, he saw a ring of transparent waves radiate out from the screaming lily of the valley—only this time, the target wasn’t its territory, but the invading enemies.

The wave crashed into the flock of swifts, and to the naked eye, the swifts—which had been charging toward their territory in perfect unison—suddenly fell into chaos.

One fell straight from the sky, another began flying erratically, and a few others started indiscriminately attacking their own kind nearby. Qiyu’s eyes lit up as he looked at the screaming lily of the valley and praised her, “You’re really amazing.” 

He had originally planned to plant the large black tree from his backpack first, but after glancing at the time, he decided to open the skill book from the treasure chest instead. He hadn’t forgotten that he was under the seven-colored flower’s blessing of good luck today.

If he waited past noon, it would be a total waste.

He washed his hands with a Waterball spell, then walked over to the seven-colored flower, its tiny petals shimmering. 

He walked to the statue of the Goddess of Nature in the garden, made a devout wish, and praised the goddess. 

The mysterious ritual was complete. The rain was perfectly blocked, creating a protected space.

When he saw the crimson light that looked somewhat familiar, Qiyu had only one thought in his mind: The seven-colored flower hadn’t been a waste, and praying to the goddess was indeed effective. 

From now on, he would devoutly offer his most sincere respect to the goddess every day. He stared at the beam of light without blinking until it gradually faded away.

Qiyu remembered that a crimson glow signified an item of a higher tier than a golden one.

The last time, he had also obtained a crimson-glowing item from a diamond chest—the Guardian Mage Robe he was currently wearing.

The Guardian Mage Robe is a semi-divine artifact.
