Qiyu had mastered the most basic constant-temperature magic array, which had limited functions and a fixed coverage area.
Moreover, although it’s called “constant-temperature,” it actually only allows you to set a fixed temperature within the Territory Module, which cannot be changed afterward.
More advanced constant-temperature magic arrays are said to allow for adjustments to the array’s size and range, automatically regulate temperature based on the territory’s needs and actual conditions, and even simulate the natural changes of the four seasons.
Sunshine, rain, wind, snow, and frost—all can be simulated.
Qiyu learned all of this from books.
For now, however, he is quite satisfied with the effects of the basic magic array.
He set the temperature to a comfortable 25 degrees, and almost immediately felt warmth wash over him, making him feel slightly warm all over.
As soon as Qiyu realized what had happened, the fire in the fireplace went out, and the brocade flame ornament in the small house was put away. For a moment, he actually felt a bit of regret—it really was quite comfortable to sit by the fireplace and warm up.
Checking on the subjects again, sure enough, the low-temperature indicators on the plants had disappeared, and they had resumed their natural growth. However, cold rain continued to pour down from the sky.
Qiyu looked up at the sky and thought to himself that he’d better learn how to cast a magical barrier—he’d heard Magister Karen mention it during class before. A magical barrier could directly isolate one region from another.
If he could master it, no matter what the conditions or weather were like outside, they wouldn’t affect the domain.
Speaking of Magister Karen, why had his consciousness suddenly been kicked out while he was in the middle of studying just now? Could it be that this beginner’s magic course limits the duration of a single session?
As he was speaking, Qiyu remembered.
Magister Karen had praised his natural talent and asked if he’d be willing to… but he didn’t finish his sentence.
A strange thought popped into Qiyu’s mind: No way—does he think I’m talented and wants to pass on his legacy to me?
There’s a precedent for this: even when he needed a little money, he did the same thing—he entered the Trial Arena in the resource zone, met a strange old man, studied under him, and received a legacy.
The more Qiyu thought about it, the more he felt this might actually be true—after all, he was a magical genius, a fact that had been praised many times. It was only natural that Teacher Karen would take a liking to him.
Now he couldn’t sleep at all.
He took out *Fundamentals of Magic Circles* once more, opened it, and tried to immerse himself in his studies again.
What if his hunch was right?
Even if it wasn’t, studying was a joyful thing in itself.
But this time, when he opened the book, he wasn’t pulled into the consciousness space. Alright, I guess there really is a time limit.
Qiyu felt a twinge of regret.
Unable to continue the course, he put the book away and opened the leaderboard.
At this moment, his event points—as the current leader—had already reached a staggering 78,009, and outside his territory, swifts continued to fly by in a never-ending stream.
He took a moment to assess the situation: at his current kill rate within the territory, he could gain about 1,000 points per hour. Barring any surprises, he’d be able to obtain the Level 3 Shelter blueprint by tomorrow.
Level 3 Shelter Upgrade Requirements:
Level 3 Shelter Blueprint x1,
Blue-Quality Wood x1,000,
Blue-Quality Stone Materials x600,
Magic Crystals x100,
Basic Structures x5,
Mutant/Magical Plants x5.
Qiyu had previously asked in the small group chat after others had upgraded their Level 2 shelters and discovered that starting with Level 3 shelters, the upgrade materials differ.
For example, Teacher Tranquility Yields Transcendence didn’t need nearly as much wood, nor did he have the requirement for 5 Mutant/Magical Plants.
However, he needed more Blue-quality iron ore, as well as a Blacksmith’s Shop building of Green quality or higher. It appears that in the later stages of the game, shelters will be customized based on the player’s class.
Among the current upgrade requirements, the hardest to obtain—the Level 3 Shelter blueprint—will be available tomorrow. Additionally, the relatively hard-to-find Magic Crystals have also been acquired in the resource zone.
The required number of basic buildings and mutated/magical plants has already been met. The only thing missing is blue-quality basic resources.
Qiyu opened the trading section and searched for blue-quality wood and blue-quality stone materials. Both resources were for sale, but they weren’t the kind you’d typically trade for.
【10 units of blue-quality wood, exchange for warm clothing.】
【10 units of blue-quality stone materials to exchange for 1 Basic Building.】@Endless great stories, all on Jinjiang Literature City 【50 units of blue-quality wood to exchange for 1 Shelter Protection Kit.】
The Friends page lit up.
At this time?
Qiyu opened it and saw Civil Engineering Brother.
【Civil Engineering Brother: Are you asleep yet, game master?】
【Love Survival Games: Not yet.】
【Civil Engineering Brother: Okay, what about “Reaching for the Moon in the Heavens” and “Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan”? Do you know them?】
【Love Survival Games: Yeah.】
【Civil Engineering Brother: Those two want to discuss a business deal with the gaming big shot, but he’s blocked friend requests, so they asked me to reach out.】
【Civil Engineering Brother: They didn’t say exactly what the deal was, just that it definitely wouldn’t be a bad deal.】
He didn’t hide anything from Qiyu, explaining that the brother and sister had asked him to pass on a message and would pay him for it. Qiyu had a vague impression of them—he only remembered they were quite quiet and didn’t seem like the type to be in danger.
【“Let’s see.”】
They’re top-ranked players in the region—who knows, they might have resources at home. As long as it’s just normal communication, Qiyu wasn’t opposed to getting to know them. Of course, they’d better not have insulted him before.
In just a few minutes, found the two of them.
Too lazy to chat with them separately, Qiyu just created a group chat.
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: Hello, gaming big shot.】
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: I’m busy killing Swifts right now and don’t have time to check the Survival Panel. Please excuse me.】
Qiyu didn’t care who he was chatting with.
【I Love Survival Game: What kind of deal are you guys looking to make?】
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: Here’s the deal, gaming expert. Although we’ve been told the Black Tree exists, we’ve never encountered it before, so we might not be able to find it.
We’d like to ask you to reserve enough points to purchase one Level 3 Shelter blueprint before the last day of the Points Store ends.】
Qiyu understood.
They weren’t sure they could scrape together enough points, but they wanted two Level 3 Shelter blueprints.
Knowing that Qiyu definitely had enough points, he wanted to reserve one blueprint. After all, while points can’t be transferred, the items purchased with them can be traded.
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: Setting aside one day should be enough to purchase whatever we need later. Of course, we know 120,000 points are precious, so we’ll only agree to this as a token of our gratitude, regardless of whether the final trade goes through.】
【Info · Blue Resource Point Mystery Box.】
【Info · Holy Light Amulet.】
【Blue Resource Point Mystery Box: Open to randomly receive a blue-quality resource point.】
【Holy Light Amulet: Imbued with the power of light, it provides some resistance to mental corruption.】
【I Love Survival Game: Deal done.】
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: Thanks, gaming pro.】
He sent something—a contract.
It contained the details he had mentioned earlier; both parties signed their respective IDs, and the I Love Survival Game contract officially took effect.
【Friend “Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan” has sent you a gift.】
【Received 1 Blue Resource Point Mystery Box and 1 Holy Light Amulet.】
【Traveler in the Misty Rain of Jiangnan: I won’t bother you, gaming guru.】
To put it bluntly, he didn’t waste a single word after achieving his goal—which was right up Qiyu’s alley.
The Holy Light Amulet was crafted into a necklace-shaped accessory—a single feather glowing with a soft white light, somewhat resembling a swiftlet feather necklace. The advantage was that it didn’t take up an equipment slot, and it didn’t necessarily have to be worn around the neck.
This item was of little use to Qiyu; after all, he hadn’t experienced any mental corruption since entering the survival game.
He put it in his backpack, planning to sell it along with the Swift Necklace when he had a chance.
As for the blue resource point mystery box, Qiyu chose to open it right away.
【Obtained Exquisite Small Lake x1. Function: Randomly yields blue-quality fish catches. Bonus function: Fishing.】
【Do you want to place it?】
A lake?
Qiyu first checked the size of the small lake.
After all, there really wasn’t much free space left in his territory.
Judging by the materials required for a Level 3 Shelter, the area should be able to expand significantly.
A small lake, 5×5 in size. It really isn’t very big.
Qiyu opened the territory module. After making some adjustments, he cleared out a suitable area and placed the small lake there. He’d check on it again at daybreak tomorrow.
Qiyu went to take a shower and headed to the bedroom.
Glancing at the brocade flame quilt, Qiyu sighed regretfully. Sleeping in those warm, cozy blankets last night had been truly comfortable. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option now—the brocade flame quilt was simply too warm for the current 25-degree temperature in his territory.
He put them away with a sigh of regret.
Lying in bed, he suddenly had the urge to send a message to God Has No Form.
【God Has No Form:?】
【I Love Survival Game: So you’re not asleep after all. Did you really stay up all night fighting the Earthfire Dragon?】
God Has No Form did not speak; He simply sent a screenshot in silence.
First place on the leaderboard: God Has No Form. 39,999 points.
In less than a second, the next screenshot was posted.
First Place on the leaderboard: God Has No Form. Points: 40,005.
【I Love Survival Games: Wow, that’s amazing.】
【God Has No Form: Of course! I’ve got a cheat code, after all.】
【God Has No Form: Still up this late? Looking for something?】
This doesn’t really fit Qiyu’s usual schedule.
【Love Survival Game: I’m already in bed, getting ready to sleep. I was going to tell you tomorrow, but then I suddenly remembered you might still be awake.】
【Love Survival Game: I’ve learned how to set up a constant-temperature magic array.】
【God Has No Form: Game Brother, you’re so awesome!】
Qiyu noticed that in the survival game, they call him by his ID, but when chatting via the communication orb, they call him by his name.
That’s pretty particular.
【I Love Survival Game: But I haven’t figured out how to duplicate the magic array into a physical object, like engraving a magic scroll.】
He said he got kicked out halfway through his magic class today—maybe they don’t let you study for too long at once.
【I Love Survival Games: Magic class is really interesting—I could study all day without getting tired.】
Dan Xingyu couldn’t agree more.
【God Has No Form: I also think studying is way more fun than slaying monsters.】
【I Love Survival Game: I got another blue resource spot today—a small lake. The survival panel says I can get blue-quality fish every day. What’s the catch? Fish? We’ll have fresh fish to eat every day.】
【God Has No Form: Blue-quality fish—it must be delicious.】
【I Love Survival Game: It even comes with a bonus feature…】
As Qiyu spoke, his eyelids gradually grew heavy. He yawned.
【I Love Survival Game: Never mind, time to sleep. God Has No Form, good night.】
【God Has No Form: Good night.】
