After Qiyu unleashed two waves of Fireballs, the scavenging rats ceased to appear.

Is it over?

Qiyu felt a twinge of regret.

He glanced to his side; the group of scavenging rats had yielded a total of 6 Basic Resource Packs and 3 emerald crystals.

Emerald crystals are diamond-shaped gems; true to their name, they are transparent, emerald-green crystals that are quite beautiful.

Qiyu scanned them.

【Emerald crystal: A universal currency.】

There was no further explanation.

Universal currency?

He was currently living alone in a survival game—what use was currency to him? Although there were 100,000 players in the area, everyone was still at the barter stage.

But a survival game wouldn’t introduce something without a purpose. Qiyu pondered—could it be that after the newbie period ends, he might encounter other humans, or perhaps elves? 

Qiyu calmly put the emerald crystal away. No matter what happens, he’d just have to take things as they come. He looked at the six resource packs and chose to open them all.

【Congratulations! You have received 2 Basic Farmlands, 2 x 50 wood, 1 Basic Mana Potion, and 1 energy bead (dark).】

Qiyu was delighted.

Clearly, each basic resource pack contained a random item. The Basic Farmland was a no-brainer—a great item, and the more the better.

Wood is another resource where you can never have too much.

【Basic Mana Potion: Restores a small amount of mana.】

Qiyu’s personal stats screen didn’t display a mana value. Even when he practiced by casting a dozen or so Basic Spells in a row, he never felt like his mana was running out. 

The potion’s effect was described just as vaguely.

But it’s a good item nonetheless. Qiyu put it away with satisfaction.

There was also an energy orb.

Qiyu remembered that collecting five energy orbs would activate the energy crystal card, at which point the bathroom would have hot water. 

Qiyu collected all the dropped items, took a step forward, and inspected the fence.

【Detected damage to the fence’s durability. Do you want to spend wood to repair it?】

Huh?

Qiyu was delighted—could the durability actually be repaired? 

He had originally thought he’d have to wait until the fence was completely destroyed before crafting a new one to replace it. 

These scavenging rats had limited attack power but were numerous. Qiyu spotted them early, and since Fireball was just the right counter for them, he ended the battle quickly.

So the damage to the fences was limited; it was just the section on the left, where each fence lost about a dozen points of durability. Qiyu spent 10 units of wood to repair them, restoring the fences to 100% durability. 

Counting the basic resource pack that dropped earlier, he now has a total of 200 units of wood.

Qiyu’s eyes lit up: Doesn’t this mean that until the fences and the 200 units of wood are used up, he doesn’t have to worry about the safety of the shelter at all?

Moreover, the log cabin itself still had 220 durability. Qiyu gazed expectantly into the darkness.

He waited quietly for a few minutes. It was completely still; there was not a sound. Qiyu looked disappointed.

He opened the interface to check on the others. Channel:

【Ultra Sensitive Skin: Holy crap, what the hell is this? Something’s gnawing on my door right outside! The system keeps warning me that durability is dropping!】

【Civil Engineering Brother: I’ve got a pack of mutated scavenging rats here. They’re not that dangerous, just a bit gross. Killing them gives you resource packs. Don’t be afraid—just treat it like a game of Whack-a-Mole!】

【Tranquility Yields Transcendence: You can repair your shelter’s durability using basic resources. As long as its durability hasn’t run out, the shelter remains safe.】

【I Don’t Want to Live Anymore: That’s easier said than done! I’m scared of rats!】

Qiyu logged out, intending to open the small group chat, but his gaze fell on the friends list below the chat window, and his eyes suddenly widened. He had only added one friend: 【Civil Engineering Brother】. Yet now, the friends list showed 2/2.

Qiyu tapped on the friends list. Beneath 【Civil Engineering Brother】’s ID, another ID had suddenly appeared.

【God Has No Form】

He frowned, wondering if he had accidentally tapped “Add Friend” during a previous transaction. Suddenly, a chat window popped up:

【God Has No Form：？】

【God Has No Form: Who are you?】

【God Has No Form: How did you get my contact info?】

Qiyu：……

【I Love Survival Game: I’d like to ask that too.】 

【God Has No Form: Holy crap, I just noticed your ID? Are you a masochist?】

【I Love Survival Game: It’s exactly what it says—I Love Survival Game.】

Dan Xingyu had just finished clearing out the attacking mutated creatures. Sitting on the doorstep, he carefully pulled out a half-empty bottle of water, ready to reward himself. 

Upon reading that, he choked on his drink. Quick as a flash, he grabbed the bottle, capped it, and set it aside carefully. After coughing several times, he finally caught his breath.

【God Has No Form: …You’re actually pretty funny.】

【God Has No Form: So what exactly did you do to add me as a friend?】

【I Love Survival Game: I told you, I want to know too.】

 Qiyu casually tapped on 【God Has No Form】’s ID.

Clicking on a friend’s ID reveals a bit of basic information. Literally just “a bit.”

Survival Game has extremely strict player privacy protections. Unless a player sets their own profile, their personal page will only display a solitary ID, along with a solitary “Server 01.” 

Of course, if you choose to share information—gender, age, occupation, and so on—you can display whatever you want.

…Wait a minute! 

Qiyu’s eyes widened suddenly.

The number under the ID “God Has No Form”—

As if we were on the same wavelength, a bunch of text suddenly popped up in the chat window:

【God Has No Form: Holy crap, what the hell? Aren’t you from our Server 88?】 

【God Has No Form: 01? From another server?】

【God Has No Form: Why did we even add each other as friends?】

【God Has No Form: This is getting interesting.】

【God Has No Form: What’s Server 01 like? Is your sanctuary a stone house? Is your spawn point in the desert, too?】

Qiyu watched as the person on the other end typed out a long string of messages with astonishingly fast fingers in just two or three seconds. 2 It looked a bit chaotic.

【I Love Survival Game: Is your Server 88 in the desert? We’re in the forest on Server 01.】

When Dan Xingyu saw that, he almost shed tears of envy. 

Just as he was about to say something, a rustling sound reached his ears again.

【God Has No Form: Looks like there’s a mutated creature here. Gotta deal with it first. We’ll chat later!】
